Some observations using Lightroom with 10-core iMac Pro:
Comparing with a 2014 iMac 5K i7, there was no difference in time to import and generate standard previews. Generating 1:1 previews, iMP was 52% faster. Exporting full quality jpegs was 71% faster. Moving around the program is a little snappier on the iMP, but not dramatically so. There was for the most part no difference in the Develop module, both machines handling most adjustment perfectly smoothly. The one area where there was a noticeable difference was when using the adjustment brush. With GPU on, the iMP was much laggier than the 5K. With GPU off, the iMP was still laggier, but not as much. All the other adjustments are totally smooth with GPU on for both machines.
One other non-lightroom item: Handbrake seems to run faster on the iMP than I expected. Repeating a test that was done by a number of people in another thread, the iMP was 2.7 times faster than the 5K. It was also 28% faster than the time someone posted for an 8-core machine running the same test.
