Interesting day today. I ordered an i7 8 core, 1TB SSD from Expercom on 8/7. I ordered from them because they had a sale that knocked $180 off the price!

well, after receiving 0 updates from expercom as to when I could expect my computer it arrived today! In fact, if I go to my expercom account it still says it’s processing. No tracking number, and it says no items have shipped. Yet here I am with it in hand! Very cool! I wasn’t expecting to get it until September.

upgraded to 64GB of RAM and no issues! this thing is flying. Beautiful machine and the 5k screen is unbelievable.

I'm amazed at the UPS route to Vancouver, BC (west coast).

Shanghai >Alaska (west coast)> Louisville, KY (east coast)>Seattle, WA (west coast)> Departed Facility ?

Good thing it's a package and not a passenger that had to go 4,000 miles out of the way.
Yup - that's the same route mine travelled. Should be here Wednesday, but it is odd that it would go from Kentucky to Washington then Richmond. Maybe because I'm in Manitoba and they consider that West?

Mine is now in Richmond showing the dreaded "Warehouse Scan". After googling this I am very fearful. Pray you never get the "Warehouse Scan".

Today delivery changed from 09/08-09/16 to 09/01 and it is being shipped from China. I ordered i7, 1TB, 8GB RAM, 10gbe, 5700XT on 08/15.

Ok that’s where mine is at. What’s the bad news?

On another note, when you finally receive your iMac, is there a customs bill affixed to the outside box with the value of the item, or is there just simply shipping information? The reason I ask is because I may have gone a lot over the budget I was given and it might be best for all involved if certain people were left in the dark about the final cost ?

Many people who have the "Warehouse Scan" status have found their item stuck there from 3 days to 3 weeks.

I don't think there will be any invoice whatsoever because Apple will pay the duty if any is charged. Funny story though. ?

Once my package started to move it really moved - this is pretty amazing in one day (I know there is the International Date Line involved, but still this may encourage others:)

Ok, mine arrive in Louisville this afternoon with a 11:09am arrive scan, nothing since then. Flight to Baltimore is at 4:25am, so I'm hoping it will be on that flight, but no import scan yet has me concerned.

Got bored and decided to upgrade my 2019 iMac.. just placed my order at Expercom.

Old configuration: i9, 580X (8GB), 64GB RAM, 512 SSD

New configuration: i7, 5700 XT (16GB), 64GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 10 Gigabit Ethernet

Not a massive performance boost on the CPU end, but solid GPU gains. 10 gig ethernet will be nice to have going forward. I should be able to sell my 2019 model to keep the upgrade costs minimal ($500-600).

I'm putting the RAM in myself, obviously.

Yeah, I ordered my iMac direct from Apple last year and I've never seen a package get to me so fast from China.

Edit: Mine went from staying at «label created» for over 24 hours to being shipped from Cork in Ireland today this afternoon, still the same ETA in Norway - tomorrow the 25th.

And today it’s in Norway after a little trip from Ireland to Germany and Sweden during the night, delivery by the end of this day ?

Well, mine shipped n Saturday with arrival expected either Friday or next Monday. UPS and Apple have 2 different dates. Meanwhile, it doesn’t look like it’s moving at all! ?

I plan on doubling the RAM but I’ve seen two different videos to do that. I’m wondering if I have to put the new RAM in any special order. Does it matter?

Here’s the movement on my iMac so far.

And my frustration continues. Apple's systems finally admitted today there's a problem with my order and the delivery date was changed to Sep 16-23 (was Aug 20-24). I don't know what has been more frustrating: getting kicked back to the end of the line after waiting for this long, or the specialists I've been speaking to yesterday and earlier this week insisting there is no issue with the order and feeding me canned responses instead of doing some legwork to see why my order wasn't moving.

Whether or not it kicks me further to the back of the line or not, I cancelled and resubmitted the order as the quoted dates for orders submitted today are also for the 16-23 range anyway. I'm pretty much sure the order was resubmitted in some form in the backend. I figured just start over fresh.

I'm really not happy with this company and its so-called specialists right now. But I still love the iMac and really want to get my hands on this model for several reasons. If it wasn't for that, I'd seriously be exploring other options.
What a difference an order makes. The resubmitted order on Aug 22nd went all the way from processing to shipped overnight. My order status page says it’s scheduled to arrive Sep 2nd, Fedex shows it’s departed China and is estimating arrival on Aug 31st by 10:30am.

Check again, mine was in Shanghai yesterday, but now it’s in Osaka. Still have a 9/1 ETA.

Sadly, it still says Export Scan in Shanghai. I know it will come but it’s kind of fun to follow progress (if there is any).
