OK, SuperDrive leaving scratched marks on disks, and problems when connecting a USB device are definitely defects/failures that needs to be addressed.
Did these problems developed after sometime?
I've only had my i7 since Dec.18, and have had no problems so far.
How long time did it take before you noticed these failures?

The SuperDrive defect was on day one when I played one of my Scrubs DVD's... The USB thing the first day, when I was going to transfer some files to my new Mac.

I got my iMac 06-11-2009

I just gotten word from the repair center that they have gotten a new Logic Board and Display for my iMac :)

Well...

Got my iMac back from repair today...

They have chanced my Display, SuperDrive and Logic Board.

I still have problems with my screen, which is still missing a few millimeters at the top.

But I think I've found the real problem. I disassembled the plate in front of the screen to check the edges around the image, and here I can see that the distances are exactly alike, so it is not the display itself thats defective, but the front plate ...

Do you think this plate can be swapped if sent to repair?
