I have an iMac 27" 5k Retina model with pink tinging I can't tolerate
I have an iMac 27" 1440P model with firmware lock (I can remove it but can I be arsed?)

Can I just swap the screens? Just want to check compatibility before I do so...

No. The 5K iMac has a 60 pin cable between the logic board and the screen, and the 1440p screen has about half that.
Also the backlight spec is different.
