Morning all,

I have a problem with my iMac not recognising my iPhone, it's been on and off for a while. I did hope the upgrade to Sequioa would resolve the problem, but nope.

I have tried:
- Switching cables,
- Switching ports,
- Switching iPhones,
- Restarting the mac,
- Restart the phones,
- Resetting the privacy on the phone
Nothing gets the iMac see the iPhone, and no option to trust the computer.

So I got my M2 MacBook Air, plugged in a USB adaptor and used both cables I tried on the iMac, got the trust messgae and the M2 sees the iphone no problem. So if the cables and phones aren't the issue, it's definately an issue with the iMac, but anyone have a clue as to what, and how to resolve it.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks bogdanw.
I Downloaded the 2 .pkg files you mentioned, did the install and both said successfully installed, and I shut down and restarted, plugged the phone in and still not recognised. So I emptied the bin, redownloaded, did the install and hit retart, still the same when I plugged the iphone in, it doesnt charge and it doesn't appear in music to sync it.

When I plugged it into my macbook and it worked I did get an update notice and it did that, but zero on the iMac. The previous thread you linked refered to High Sierra, I'm on Sequioa (via OCLP) does that impact things?

I just checked and the version of music on my iMac is 1.5.6.11 and the version of OS Sequoia is 15.7.7 if that helps. I can't see how to check for updates on music either?

No, the files are common for all macOS version. I ran the script in Sequoia 15.7.7 to get the links, so they are definitely the right ones.
OCLP patches might have an impact. https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/issues/497

Music is updated with macOS, it's not separate.

Thank you for the reply. I'm stumped then. The 2 files you kindly linked were down loaded and installed, but still the mac won't detect my iphone 11. Is there a way to check there was no issue with the download/install? I got the successfully installed message for both so it should be fine, but it isn't. My iPhone does not appear in music or finder, and does not charge when plugged in.

I tried my redundant iPhone 8, and the mac wouldn't detect that either, and I repeated the cable and ports swaps. My MacBook Air did and it was the same with my iPhone 11, so it can only be something with the Mac.

Strange they don't show. I'll redo it.

Apologies.

I redownloded the links anyway, and again says successfeul. I rebooted, and looking in the right place this time I can only see CoreTypes, MobileDevices is not there?

Could it be that the usb port on the Mac is nonfunctional?
I've tried all 4 ports and non recognise the iPhone, they will charge/dectect other devices like my time machine, flash drives etc, so its not a port problem.... must be a software issue.
