And will it take up MY icloud storage amount?
I haven't watched the Keynote yet so I apologize if this was already explained...When I saw this listed I really hoped they were announcing iMessage for iCloud.com so that iMessage can be accessed from anything with a web browser. We should be so lucky...
Although this is a much needed feature. Hated that if you deleted a conversation on one device, it remained on all others. Ridiculous.

Will that be a feature with iOS 11? Deleting a conversation on one device deletes it on your other devices as well?
Ive been wondering if/how this may affect how photos are embedded into your messages. This is a huge issue for my wife who lets gigs of photos get overloaded in messages. She doesn't want to delete the texts, but does want a way to delete the images quickly. Maybe moving messages to cloud will help with storage.
You should be able to do that just now, directly in the message.
Once in a conversation, click the "i" icon in the top right. From there, scroll down and it will display all the images sent to and from in that conversation. From there, the usual hold down on one and select "more", select multiple images as needed and then delete.
Keeps the actual text messages but allows you to delete any unneeded images that have been sent.
does anyone success syncing iMessage on iCloud?
You can select multiple messages with Cmd+Click. This is the biggest reason I don't use Messages on my MBP and iPad: having to delete messages from each device separately. Plus, deleting messages on the Mac is a huge pain in the back because I can't select multiple ones. Glad to see this new addition. Can't wait to try it out in a later beta!
I don't understand why this is such a big deal because Apple actually announced this feature at WWDC in 2012 but it has never worked properly.
Now they have fixed this issue and are re announcing it like it is an amazing new feature.
