* Does this mean I can message from iCloud.com? (I'm guessing probably not)
* Does the 'sync messages across all devices' apply to SMS messages too? (I'm guessing probably not)
* Will the sync extend to the Apple Watch? (I'm guessing probably so)

Inquiring minds want to know.

Ive been wondering if/how this may affect how photos are embedded into your messages. This is a huge issue for my wife who lets gigs of photos get overloaded in messages. She doesn't want to delete the texts, but does want a way to delete the images quickly. Maybe moving messages to cloud will help with storage.

And will it take up MY icloud storage amount?

From what I can see on my phone, it will count towards your storage. I am not sure it's working 100% as of now because it's still spinning on my phone (for status). When I go to Messages and tap "sync now", it does nothing. It does state, it will move them to the cloud and free up space on your phone.

When I saw this listed I really hoped they were announcing iMessage for iCloud.com so that iMessage can be accessed from anything with a web browser. We should be so lucky...

Although this is a much needed feature. Hated that if you deleted a conversation on one device, it remained on all others. Ridiculous.

If this works like I think it will it would be pretty sweet. I hate deleting messages and almost never do...now my Messages app takes up an obscene amount of space on my devices. It'll be nice to reclaim some of that space without having to delete anything.

I really hope it extends to the Apple Watch, it is a major pain in the A to delete messages on it...

I haven't watched the Keynote yet so I apologize if this was already explained...
Will that be a feature with iOS 11? Deleting a conversation on one device deletes it on your other devices as well?

Is there any sign of a way to undelete messages (e.g. a 'recently deleted' folder)? I've seen too times people deleting a thread by mistake (oftentimes there is some bug that deletes the whole thread while trying to delete one message) that can only be fixed by a restore from backup.

You should be able to do that just now, directly in the message.

Once in a conversation, click the "i" icon in the top right. From there, scroll down and it will display all the images sent to and from in that conversation. From there, the usual hold down on one and select "more", select multiple images as needed and then delete.

Keeps the actual text messages but allows you to delete any unneeded images that have been sent.

From what I read elsewhere, only the iMessages are synced (not the SMS) and only on iOS and MacOS devices (not WatchOS).

Hope this is not true or it will change later...
:(

I am also curious if we will be able to message from iCloud.com. I would REALLY REALLY REALLY like to be able to print message threads from iCloud.com.

This is the biggest reason I don't use Messages on my MBP and iPad: having to delete messages from each device separately. Plus, deleting messages on the Mac is a huge pain in the back because I can't select multiple ones. Glad to see this new addition. Can't wait to try it out in a later beta!

When I try to turn on iMessage iCloud I receive the following message:

Error
Unable to update iCloud setting at this time.

Not owning a Mac I was hoping this meant icloud.com would gain messages at least to use from any computer on the web

That would have been really nice and the sync should in theory allow that.

Thank you but I did know about this. It needs a quicker way to select multiple images. I wish I could drag and multi select like in the photos.app.

I unchecked the messages on icloud option and now i cant activate it.
Keep getting...

Error
Unable to update iCloud setting at this time.

You can select multiple messages with Cmd+Click.
