Just installed iOS13 today. Has anyone been able to make the iMessage name and photo feature work? I update my name and also my photo and it never saves. Is it broken or is there a special trick to it?

Negative here. Not sure what is going on with it. Tried to share to a few other people that upgraded to iOS 13 and nothing.

I was able to set mine up fine, but it is not sharing to my husband's phone. He just continues to see the same default initials as always. We're both on iOS13 and I've tried setting it to "always share with contacts" and "always ask". He also tried deleting the message conversation and starting fresh. Nothing works. :(

Working fine for me. Friends updated theirs and it updated to me. Sit tight though. 13 is still buggy. 13.1 is around the corner.

Is your contact name+photo shared with everyone to whom you send a message, or just with your contacts list/friends?

It won't let me save the name and picture because my Apple ID has multiple (two) phone numbers associated... I'd assume that these days many people have a personal & work number, why would they block this feature in such a case?

Follow up to this ^. A couple of hours later, my husband finally got a notification asking if he wanted to use my shared profile name and picture for my contact info. So apparently, I'm just impatient! :)

Yeah same here, i have photo sharing enabled and it isn't working to a couple contacts that updated to iOS 13. Might be buggy?

After I set my photo, then I go to "edit name and photo" it's not showing the photo I chose, but is showing a blank one. I don't know if this is because it thinks I'm setting a new one though?

I'd really like Apple to offer you the option to have two photos, as there are some people I might prefer to have an actual picture of me, whereas others I might prefer having a Memoji shown instead.

Does anyone know how to enable someone else's contact picture if you declined it when iOS initially invited you to change it?

Yes... now working in iOS 13.1 ~ Thank God I can now see the wife’s broomstick in flight.

I also don’t get the option to select everyone.

Impossible for me since I‘ve multiple numbers linked to my iMessage. Don‘t get the problem but okay...

That's what bothers me too. Why on earth is this feature blocked if you have multiple numbers associated?
