Please some one explain this:

I have 5Gb for iCloud storage. Does iMessages on iCloud count towards that 5Gb quota? .. if it does, there is no point on turning it on since it would eat up my remaining 1Gb veru quickly and start bugging me with "iCloud full"

Does iMessage count towards iCloud storage space? (5Gb)

What about my past messages that weight a lot on my local iPhone storage right now? are they on iCloud once I turn iCloud for iMessages on? .. What if I want ZERO 0Gb of local storage used by iMessage, can it be done?

PLEASE HELP GUYS = )

I have 8GB of iMessages and a 5GB iCloud free account. Not anymore! I’ve had to upgrade to a 50GB iCloud account to accommodate iCloud messages.

Another issue is the initial sync is SLOW. In the last 7 hours it’s synchronised just 3GB

Doesn't seem to work well

- no messages on iPhone or watch
- created message on iPhone
- message appears on watch (great!)
- delete message from iPhone
- 10 mins later and message still on watch

So, it does count towards your 5Gb of free iCloud storage,

That makes it such a “meh” feature. Apple is going to get richer because of cases like yours

Yup. I don’t think most people’s messages would fit into 5GB (mine delete after 12 months).

All Apple needed to do was the leave messages as they were (on the device) and use iCloud to notify what to delete on each device.

13 hours later and the messages are still syncing across 2 devices!

We were just discussing the Messages not deleting from the Watch when deleted from the iPhone. A few said Messages will not automatically delete from the Watch, we have to continue deleting the Messages from Watch manually. Pointless.

I don't think it is working as it should.

now that 11.4 is out perhaps more people will be able to chime in and say how the feature behaves with older messages.
I’m expericing bugs where it won’t sync all my messages only some and it didn’t seem to back them all up either strangely

I just uploaded 7 months worth of iMessages from my Mac to iCloud. 5 hours later they're still not showing up on my phone. I know everything got uploaded because its using 450MB of my iCloud storage. What gives?
