I believe the problem of detecting DV Cameras will be fixed in Monterey 12.4 update

I have heard from two sources who have tested the Recent Beta Version of Monterey 12.4 and they claimed it has been fixed. Although I have not done similar testing I feel confident it will be resolved.

This issue is fixed in 12.4 which was released today.

I installed Monterey 12.4 update and once again my Sony DCR-TVR480 Digital 8 video camera is being recognised in iMovie etc.

Yep, I figured Apple would fix the FireWire video capture bug with Monterey 12.4. Tested it on my M1 MacBook Air last night with my Canon VIXIA HV-40 and Final Cut Pro.
