i had to send in my pb for a new logic board, I waited three weeks for the dam thing. What really pissed me off was that i was leaving for school and i had it shipped back to the store in NY... when i called up apple to have it shipped to the store near my school they wouldn't do it. THe store in NY had to send it over night to the store in boston.... grr what a load of crap...

okay................. i guess i'm not sending it in
i absolutely need this thing in 2 weeks from today, i cannot afford be stuck in that situation

bearbo - you sound like you may be bouncing off the walls over this. The logic board replacements took a long time initially because so many had to be done once the problem was identified. They have probably caught up - once again - why not call Apple and chat with them directly?? It is CLEAR that you are not happy with the service from the store.

so it's been 7 days (7 business days, mind you:( ) already... still no call, nothing from the apple store

what should i do?

i dont want to keep calling them and making the more annoyed.. afterall, i still have to count on their mercy to not break my machine when it's actually being repaired.

sorry to hear about your troubles...

I think it's better to just leave your laptop at the store and wait it out.

If they've already ordered the parts, then chances are you'll only end up waiting longer if you pick it up, and send it to apple for repairs. However, this only applies if they've actually ordered the parts. if not, screw em, that's just terrible service then.

i have the laptop in my hand, as i am typing on this right now. they told me i can have it while they "order" the parts... they told me they ordered it, but it has been 8 business days, 10 days in total, i am not entirely sure if they've done anything

as to sending it to applecare... i'm seriously considering it.. but i'm not sure how long that will take, kind of worried actually.

this is my situation. i need to have my laptop next tuesday and wednesday. and after that i need to have it by the thursday a week from next thursday.
these days are not flexible, and they dont leave a lot of times in between... i'm not sure if i can get it back from applecare during that time (i can call them and ask, but i seriously doubt they can quote me a accurate time)

store repair is a decent solution in this case, because when they get parts in, i can then decided if i can take it in immediately or at wednesday night, and have them work on it... i dont think they'll take a week to install parts right? and i for sure will get it back by the following thursday

so after 2 weeks since i was promised "2 day to get the parts in", i called... and it's just so coincidental that they had to transfer the parts from another store (how on the earth does supplier not have a LCD?)... and it should get there tomorrow!

this is just ridiculously coincidental, i find myself hard to believe that

and i was told it'll take 48hrs to install... can someone tell me that when you brought your computer in store for repair, how long does it take them to install it after they have the parts? Thanks!

When i had my macbook pro in...the apple tech installed the part the same day that the part came in. (after 6 business days).

i hope my apple store will provide the same level of service then... apple stores aren't created equal!
