Hey all, I just got the InCase Neoprene Sleeve for the new MacBook Air and decided to do a quick review with video and pictures. Sorry for the bad quality pictures, they were taken on my iPhone as I'm on holiday without my camera.

VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc2Zb4b6uQU

This sleeve fits very tightly around the MacBook Air and has a convenient to use no-zipper system.

My case has a decent gap where the flap closes, however.

The case adds very little to the footprint of the MacBook Air. It adds just enough, in my opinion, to give it some extra padding and size for sliding in my backpack's laptop storage area.

All in all, I definitely would recommend this case to anyone looking for a slim sleeve for their MacBook Air.

InCase website link: https://www.goincase.com/products/detail/neoprene-sleeve-cl57148

The case is out of stock online, but I found it in an Apple Store. Definitely check your local store if you are looking for one of these.

Thanks for the review...I would like to ask your opinion on something. I have a very thin sleeve that seems to protect my MBA just fine, not as much as one of these would, and it's fairly stylish (actually Louis Vuitton). I can basically either get one of these sleeves or a back up drive. I generally have all my stuff basically backed up (I have another computer with my whole music library and my photos, and documents, which it basically everything important, but I don't have a Time Machine backup which would be very useful for when I get a new laptop since I wouldn't have to re-create iTunes playlists/ratings/etc.). The HD would cost me a bit more, but I don't really mind. Right now I'm pretty much torn cuz I don't really need either...should I just save my money and live with what I have?

That's something that is totally up to you. Having a good backup is always a good thing to do, so I would think that would have slightly more importance. Most of the sleeves don't provide much padding/protection for the laptop, anyway. I carry mine inside this sleeve inside of a backpack with a padded "laptop" area. The reason I got the sleeve was to make the footprint of the MBA larger so it wouldn't bounce around in the compartment as much.

this is real nice, but i went with the MBP incase case for my MBA 13" and it fits great with extra space and a small pocket for like paper and pens :)

Nice... only if they have it for the 11" dimension.

I'm sure they are working on one. They'll probably come out with the 11" model and refresh their stock on their website at the same time. They probably got slammed with the initial run.

The problem is, by that time my MBA is probably scratched up. After the first scratch, I wouldn't bother with a sleeve anymore. So it's either now or never, and it looks like it'll be never.

Got my MBA on Tuesday and my case is arriving tomorrow (different case). Not taking the MBA out of my house until then.

no offense but it's rubbish, I had it a few weeks back from the apple store it's not the same one they used to sell where the logo is on the back side by the opening which fits nicely.

it was too tight to comfortably put in and pull out. the flap over the side feels like it was going to rip every time I struggled to put it over.

finally the opening bowed open because it was too tight.

Idk if it fits the older Air better, but the fit on the new air is horrible. I suspect this is for the older model with the curved edges.

returned this the next day. Generally like all Incase products but I rather wait for one that is designed for the new air.;)

Why are all these companies nowadays so hell-bent on cost-cutting? How much would it cost to put, oh I dunno, a frikkin' zipper on it?

That sleeve has been out for a while and is for the first generation Air. I'm sure it fits well and everything, just saying I think a new design will come out soon for the 2nd gen. You can find these older sleeve on Zappos.com btw.

Zippers can scratch it, and are more difficult to open (sticking, jamming, more time taken by default), tbh I don't really care, but am leaning towards no zipper for a preference...and this one's $10 cheaper than the MBA sleeve.

Nope. I've had sleeves from this very company dating all the way back to my powerbook G4. No scratches, no jamming, no difficulty opening. And no stretching of material in order to get the computer into the sleeve. Trust me on this, zippers work.

New sleeve for Air 11.6

I just received a sleeve from SF Bags (Waterfield). It fits the Air like a glove. Very high quality, IMO. Nice velcro closure on the flap, can be outfitted with D-rings and a strap if you like; comes in either vertical or horizontal configuration. The sleeve is very well padded and very protective. I got the vertical bag with flap, strap, leather trim, and piggyback, which attaches to the D-rings and provides plenty of space for charger, wallet, smartphone. Customer service at SF Bags has been outstanding, too.

I think it's really just a matter of personal preference. I prefer the slide in as this sleeve has over zipper any day.

2010 MBA neoprene sleeves

Does anyone know when InCase will start selling neoprene sleeves for the new mba? Also, anyone know of any good alternatives that are already on the market?

I've been keeping my eyes open for this too! My wife and I both have an InCase for our iPads, and I think she would love an InCase for her 13 inch MBA.

The incase label on mine is on the other side below the slit on the right, does this mean its for the old mba (ebay ad stated it was for the new one)? It fits snuggly not too tight.

Bought one of these for my 11.6"....

Taking it back as putting the air in/taking it out is a royal PITA! I can't see it lasting long with regular use as I have to pull it so hard to get the flap over the laptop. And with hard sharp corners on the Air, it's not good for fingers either!

I cannot find the case at their website. Does anyone have any suggestions?
It's not on their website because they haven't made a sleeve for the new Airs yet. The sleeve pictured in this thread is old and will be hard to find as Incase isn't making it anymore. I emailed Incase and they said they are working on a new model and it will be released soon.

This thread title is all wrong. It should say: I got a 1st Gen Incase Neoprene Sleeve for my 2nd Gen Macbook Air (Late 2010)
