After looking through pretty much everything (and lots of running to and from shops, returning things I didn't like), I've finally found the perfect combination for my MacBook Air. :D

Wrapsol is amazing. You pretty much can't see it at all, and it protects the MacBook Air from scratches. This is most useful, especially at the back. Wrapsol covers the entire machine, leaving nothing to worry about when it comes to scratches, dust and the like.

The Incase Sleeve is great. Very easy to take the MacBook Air in and out. I take it to university and I need something that will allow the MBA to be carried in my backpack without adding much volume, and easily accessible. The padding is enough to protect it from my textbooks and stationery, or other things in my bag with the potential to damage my machine.

This is the ultimate combination. A Wrapsol'd MacBook Air fits inside the Incase just perfectly.

this far i have bought and sold 3 macbook airs, 4 Unibody MBP, and i'm currently have the 11" mba and 17" uni mbp, never put any protection and it's never got scratched. i think the aluminum is pretty robust.

+1 for Wrapsol. Got mine yesterday. I however did not like the trackpad and handrest part. So did not install that one. But pretty much looks good for the front and back

That looks like the perfect combo - now if only WrapSol sold in the UK without being stung for customs!

I am sure they can ship it to the UK. It is less than 50$ so not sure how much you end up paying for customs?

+1 for the Wrapsol. I have it on my new 11"MBA as well. Compared to the Wrapsol for MBP, the thing that I don't like the one with the MBA is the bottom piece. there are no cutout for the screws which means in a few years time when you have to replace your batteries, you have to scrape the piece.

I think using this plastic coating on the MBA is terrible. It feels awful to touch and its even worse to put on.

I tried it once and returned, not for me.

I take the view that these are devices that are meant to be used and in using them they do eventually show the signs of use. What they are not are museum pieces to be preserved in kevlar or plastic and opened with white gloves and treated with like a new born baby.

Honestly I think people that put so much effort into preserving their laptops, their iphones have a slight case of obsessive compulsive disorder taking pains to preserve the pristine condition of a unit they will no doubt sell as soon as the next model comes out. It is a fastidious addiction I have never understood.

I for one have never had a problem reselling anything I have owned and used for a couple of years. These things have great resale value and as long as you don't hurl them across the room and use them as a fly swatter your going to get a fair price during resale.

I use the incase sleeve when I pack my MacBook Air into my luggage or the front pocket of my pc bag (a typical 6lb mid-range Windows PC goes into the main compartment).

Wrapsol is way better than InvisShield.

@3goldens: Even though you take great care of your stuff, accidents do happen.

I think the wrapsol makes it look cheap. The aluminum should hold up without it and you may as well enjoy the product instead of just keeping it in good shape for the next person who buys it from you.

Cheap? You can barely tell it's on. I have Wrapsol installed on my MBP and couldn't be more happier.

Only the trackpad, but that's why I ripped if off quite quickly. xD

Same for me. I took the track pad piece off this AM and couldn't be happier. The rest of the machine still looks fantastic, and now I know I'm not going to scratch it terribly.

You can order on the official site, Amazon and eBay. Better yet, if you have a Fry's Electronics near you, they go for really cheap!

It's rather telling when people are critical of others. It reveals a lot about the person who is doing the judging. Usually it's their fear of looking in the mirror that causes them to be negative & critical.

No need to cut anything out, the pieces are pre-cut. There are four total; front, back, palm rest, trackpad.
