over the years of using smartphones i have become more and more discrete in how i use them

for example i have even stoped using the ringtone(s)

if it is in my pocket i just set it to vibrate

it i am at work or at home i just put it completely on silent as long as it is within viewing distance i can detect all my calls

if really i need sound notifications they are on minimum volume

i have since moved on from the "loud" alerts which can even be annoying to other people that i may have around

and with this approach, that i can understand is pretty much personal, i would be happy to have a very minimal call alert option on my lock screen

This is what is so great about Apple Watch...nothing beats getting silent notifications on your wrist without anyone having to hear a ding, buzz or ring. And on a few occasions, I even had to answer a call on it when my phone was in another room.

I have a Fitbit watch, have had for about 4 or 5 years now in various versions, and that vibrates on my wrist for calls, messages and calendar alerts...since getting one i dont think my phone has ever been off silent. No need for it to be as i get alerted to things by the watch vibrating on my wrist.

I don't have the beta installed. Can someone explain how this is a bad thing? So what if it takes up the whole screen?
The banner allows you to silently dismiss a call so it rings in the background, allowing you to continue whatever you‘re doing.

The lock screen still having the old „locking you into answering / declining“ to get control over your phone back is annoying. Probably sounds funny to the majority of you but I literally have a moment once a week, where I need to check something out on my phone and the second I pick it up a call pops up, locking me out of my phone with the slide to answer screen.
Would‘ve been cool if iOS 14 allowed you to swipe up to unlock and go to home without declining a call. At least the unlocked state is no denial of service attack anymore though.

Chances are that the need for the whole slider to answer functionality on the lock screen is part of the reason why it wasn't changed there (with just general better visibly of a new call coming through probably being another reason). That said, some sort of a dismiss option/functionality would still certainly be nice to have there.
