Haven't tried the latest beta of 10.10.4, but up until its release, 10.10.2 has been the most stable version for me. 10.10.3 introduced all kinds of flickering and kernel panics, and there doesn't seem to be a workaround for it other than to downgrade to the older version, since these bugs can't be reproduced at will.

Those seeing panics had third party kernel drivers installed. 9 times out of 10, that's the issue with OS updates as those third party kernel drivers do who knows what and can induce a panic.

All of this is good news for what to expect in 10.11 if the rumors are true about the main focus being on stability and optimization.
