bumping with the same question - has anyone used this procedure to go up to 5.0.1? My wife's phone has started to bother her about the 5.0.1 upgrade, and obviously I don't want it to just install the stock 5.0.1 by itself (which I've seen conflicting reports on the likelihood of).

----------

Additionally, can anyone actually confirm that the Gevey sim works on 5.0.1 with preserved baseband? The discussion here is discouraging:

just to check - are you saying that you've upgraded to 5.0.1 with preserved baseband without an issue?

I upgraded to iOS 5.0 not 5.0.1 and it is still working for me. Haven't tried 5.0.1

EDit: Just updated to iOS 5.0.1 and it works with Gevey Ultra.

I upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 on my iPhone 4, while preserving the baseband, without any issues. However, I cannot confirm that the Gevey Sim works. However this webpage confirms that it does work.

Does anybody know if this works with 5.0.1 with gevey ultra?

AT&T sim card

Will this work with any AT&T sim card or the original one ? I'm still stuck on 4.3.5 and trying to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1. (and jump to iOS 6 when the app developers stop supporting 5.)
