Hey all... looks like someone disassembled the intel iMac. I couldn't find a post about this, but I don't have good search skills.

The original link is someone what unstable:

I have everything on my website as well:

---addendum---

- Forum Post - iMovie Ken Burn's Effect, Cross Dissolves, Export Quicktime H264, iDVD Disc Image.
- Forum Post - iTunes AAC encoding
- World of Warcraft - few specifics, but good FPS.

The original G5 was so pretty inside. Everything Rev B and up is just hideous.

the Rev B iMac's (like mine) are just like the rev A inside, truly amazing. The Rev C is where it got horrible and you could only upgrade the RAM on the bottom of the computer.

Wow, the intel imac certainly has more unused space than the other imacs.
I also think that the first imacs were beautiful inside. I hope the new powermacs (or whatever they call them) don't look crappy inside.
Remember apple, beautiful inside, beautiful inside!

Intel inside, ugly inside?

ADMIN NOTE: It's been pointed out that these images are NOT a valid comparison. This is the FRONT Of the Intel iMac and the BACK of the iMac G5.

Yes the original was so much prettier...i put the images from http://www.kodawarisan.com/ below to see.

[update] Good point from the admin note, but they don't have identical pictures. You can still tell that the original g5 had more atention to detail, from the colour of the fans (white) to the elgant cover of the G5.

Wow, that is quite possilbly the ugliest thing I have ever seen! I hope that they smarten up and start putting there computers together properly again. I think that I will wait for a little while so apple can get a little more comfortable with Intel...

You can't really attribute the messy interior to a 'rushed' Intel switch.

The iMac G5 with iSight has a very similar interior layout to the new Intel iMacs. Compare iMac G5 vs iMac Core Duo.

AFA looks go, it's kind of unfair to compare the back-side, user serviceable portion to the under-the-LCD front-side in the japanese disassembly pics.

Wow - looks rather... unorganized, like they just threw a bunch of parts together in an iMac case.

Then again, the iSight G5 model doesn't look too much better.

Yeah, I love my Rev. B's interior. I didn't think the Intel's would be as bad as the Rev. C but it looks like Apple wants to lock us out from upgrading and lock us in to buying a new machine.

Pic of Intel Core Duo chip....

The link to the pic of the "Core Duo Chip" in this post on the front page of Macrumors, is IMO, not the Core Duo chip itself.

It looks to me that it is the system controller or a chip of that nature. I am an Apple Technician and have access to the Service Manuals. Did anyone else get confused when it obviously had no signs of a heatsink being removed from it?

EDIT: The link has been changed to the actual Intel Core Duo chip. Cheers!
