The loss of signal happens very rarely!

It's been an issue since 4.01, upgraded through all major builds on untethered JB after that, actually it happens less than it used to, being worst on the mid 4+ builds

I'm very happy with 1.2.5 on 5.01, and i use the phone all over the world without any significant problems.

you anal ocd people really do irritate me

Why is it anal to expect your phone to correctly display its signal strength properly? That's what it's supposed to do. If you're satisfied with your phone always showing 1 bar of signal strength, good for you. I, along with many others here, would like to know exactly what kind of signal I'm getting. I don't see how that's unreasonable or OCD. And if we irritate you so much, just don't click on this thread.

I think you are reading the thread wrong. iPhones are not display its correct signal. It always show "1" bar instead of its correct signal.

Dude, you need to stay out of this thread and mind your own business. You obviously have nothing constructive to offer here so I don't even know why you're bothering to post. I've been jailbreaking my phones ever since the 3G, so I know what I'm doing and I certainly don't need you or anyone telling me what to do.

Something is wrong with ultrasn0w and we're in here looking for help - that's what this forum is for. You obviously can't help so stop antagonizing and go find something better to do with your time.

Ultrasn0w - Signal Fluctuates

Hi All -
I'm on 3GS and I'm from the Philippines. I have unlocked my 3GS myself through Redsnow and Ultrasn0w however I've noticed that whenever I'm online (WiFi/3G), my signal fluctuates yet reverts back after few seconds. I am aware that the type of unlock I made wasn't factory unlock so I'd like to know if my 3Gs' performance with regard to my issue is normal? I have also installed Ultrasn0w fixer too but it still happens. I was told by our local dealer the reason why it's like that is because it's a software unlock not a factory unlock. Can somebody please tell me if what I told is true or just rumors?

Correct, in low signal strength area's ultrasn0w might lose signal sometimes, ususally gets back, if it doesn't try turn airplane mode on and off again.

Also there is a Cydia tweak that lets you pickup the strongest signal around:
Signal Booster
