Does it loose this nice aluminium-touch? I kinda' like that, but would hate scratches on my baby...

I have it on sans the touchpad like the above poster. It's awesome everywhere else. It's not gonna protect it from drops but it'll protect it from minor bumps and scratches. Exactly what I'm looking for as I'm not a klutz.

For those that chose to skip the trackpad protection, was it because it had a negative effect on the performance of multi-touch gestures?

Yeah. It has a sticky feel to it. I just couldn't glide my fingers across the pad without discomfort. Remember, if you installed It and then removed it, hang onto the piece for the lifetime guarantee. Zagg will want all pieces back for a replacement.

Invisable Shield

I have had mine for about a month now. I love it. The material has a bit of a sticky or at least non slip feel to it. That makes carrying the MBA much safer. It will not tend to slip from your sweaty slippery hands any more. I think it adds a new level of safety to moving about with the little silver beauty.

In my opinion, it looked better without the skin, but for the peace of mind and not needing a sleeve (in my bag), it's worth it. Not to mention it would look worse with a scratch.

I have the skin now on my mba, moto q, ipod 80gb, canan ds630 screen.

Haha, you're worse than me. My friends laugh at me for putting it on top of my golf driver. Now, only if I can find a size for my 42" LCD tv. :)

I think my MBA looks better with InvisableShield. It gives it a liquidly, shine, almost like it's molten.

i prefer with IS. Firmer grip to MBA. Shiny finish. Feel less worried about the scratches to it. Reason why i never put the touchpad protector is it become not as smooth to move my fingers across, more resistance, so to me less efficient..

I just installed the full shield on my MBA. I went ahead and applied the trackpad pieces as well and actually prefer having the kit on the computer. On top of the assurance that no scratches will happen, I like the fact that despite having clammy fingers in the heat / wet hands, the trackpad still works.

One gripe I have with the kit is that the top piece is not a perfect fit. Despite being centered there is still a little bit of the shield hanging off the lid on the top and bottom.

Hi, am new here. been lurking around before buying my first Mac, which is a MBA. Happy with it so far.

Want to share my experience of installing the Invisible Shield (IS) on the MBA.

I got the full body coverage and installing it was a complete disaster. I thought I would start with the easy part, and so I did the tiny piece that covers the flap for the ports. That was easy enough, and I went on to try the bottom piece. As I was removing it, probably because the backing was still curled up from the way it was shipped, the IS started to stick to itself. After a couple of minutes struggling with it to untangle it, I finally managed to get it flat. But something unfortunate happened... as I was moving it in a position to spray on the solution, it accidently got stuck to a nearby magazine. Now, there's paper stuck on the IS. Just a part of it, but it cannot be removed.

It had to be the single most frustrating experience I've ever had trying to protect my electronic items. I did go on to finish the top cover and wrist rest part, but the bottom piece is ruined and has been put back on the backing with part of a magazine still on it.

Has anyone here ever been in contact with IS's customer service? I've filled in a form on their site asking for help, but they never responded. It's been 4 days, and I've sent the form twice. I didn't even get an email confirmation saying they got my mail. And the site even says they will only take 1 business day to respond to enquiries.

I'm not blaming the product, but I have to say it's not as easy as many people make it out to be. Or maybe i'm just incompetent:p So I've got an exposed MBA base, a bubbly top and wrist rest (yes, I didn't even get those parts done right) and worst of all, I'm most frustrated by IS's lack of customer service.

Put mine on this afternoon. Simple to do. Very nice results.

Gotta go. I've a little port door to cover!

i have a invisible shield on my iPhone and it was sticky on the screen for about 6 moths but i finally went away although the back is still sticky and stuff in my pockets will stick to it. I dont put much in that pocket if anything at all to avoid scratching (and sicking) but i put my camera in there the other day and it actual was stuck to the phone. i pulled it out with the wrist strap and the phone was stuck to it it actually functions as a cool way to pull it out of my pocket. Anyway i wanted to know if the shield on the air is the same. I am going to get an air to replace my MB for school and i wanted to know how well the shield works for the air.

That sucks. i think CS is pretty responsive. they'll just send you another one. They probably cost like $2 to make!

Granted, putting on the Invisible Shield takes patience and time. Mine took about an hour and a half because how anal I am with my electronics.

The shield looks great on my Air, almost a glassy feeling, and prevents the Air from accidentally slipping out of your hands.

To compliment this, it's protected fully by the shield, a keyboard iSkin, and in its UKWrappers sleeve, and carried around in my Brenthaven work bag.

After filling in their customer service form twice, I have yet to get an answer. Just sent them a third one

Hello,

this will be the third time I'm completing this customer service form. Both my first and second requests have gone unanswered for about a week.

I'm writing this about my installation problems. In the process of putting on the bottom piece of my MBA Invisible Shield, I messed up and got a piece of a magazine stuck to it. Now, I cannot paste it onto my MBA.

I've put it back onto its backing, and it's now just sitting there. Is there anything that I can do about this? Need help.

Would appreciate if someone can just answer this, send me an email or something. Even if it's to tell me "you screwed up, deal with it. We can sell you a new piece if you want."

Hope to finally be able to hear from someone.

I doubt they are going to answer this one as well... Does anyone have a direct email I can use? I'm tempted to use the one on their site, president@zagg.com, but it seems a little extreme.

It was all a misunderstanding! updates in my last post on this thread

Use it, and HE will reply. I had sent an email and the PRESIDENT of the company replied promptly and took care of my issue which was related to a promotion I was trying to take advantage of that had expired apparently the night before I went to use it.

Great company. And no, I don't work for them or related in ANY way.

I did. Sent him an email last week, and still.. no reply. I can't imagine how any online company can behave like this. And it wasn't like my messages were rude, I merely asked for help, if they could solve my problem.

I've effectively given up. I would have been happy even if they would tell me they can't help me, and proceed to sell me just the bottom piece. But no, nothing at all. I find it amazing that they have such good reviews for customer service online, when my experience is exactly the opposite.

Similar experience on a Nano, never could get the bubbles out on a Dell Axim. Customer service is non-existant. When refund came, it was for $4.95 out of the $29.95. Shipping is another profit mark-up. More people have install problems than those that don't. I'd get a good case, and be done with the whole Invisi-shield "skin" experience:cool:
