I think it's something developers would need time to work with so dark mode would probably come with iOS 11. I can't see it being restricted only to OLED though, that would be very narrow support for something that requires that much effort.
Knowing Apple I bet the dark mode feature will be restricted to OLED devices. To push you to upgrade to the latest and greatest

I find it strange that the Touch Bar is customizable from day one, but Control Center still isn't, more than three years in.
macOS (and thus Macs) has always been more customizable than iOS (and thus iPhones/iPads/etc.).

Agree with your 2 and 3. However, I just don't see Dark Mode happening til iOS 11 (or whatever its called). This is a lot bigger change to the OS than NightShift was (try the Accessibiity setting for Invert Colors and you'll see what I mean). Moreover, as many have indicated here, it would be optimized for an OLED screens (where it's simply the "off" setting for each darkened pixel) more than it would be on a LCD screen, where you get the light leakage from the back/sidelights. Its pretty clear (at least as clear as it can be) that Apple will be switching to OLED screens next year, so why not wait til then and deliver an optimal experience. Of course, that probably means earlier gen phones won't get it.
Yea i know all of that but if Apple waits exclusively for the OLED iPhones to release this feature will that mean dark mode will be exclusive to the iPhone 8? I hope its just gonna be a marketing strategy and not an exclusive feature to the newer iPhones

And at the same time, equally fragile. Perhaps your shiny new gen iPhone will become far less useable right after a year. iPhone 6 series *cough*.

Looking at current trends, I think Apple will give us more emojis and stickers. Messages is lacking in full-screen effects, so more of those too.
I expect nothing useful or anything users are demanding to be implemented in iOS, so business as usual for Apple.

Kind of like iOS 10.2 that gave us plenty more?

Nothing was said about being happy or not or anything like that. Simply making observations about reality.

I'm not sure who you're saying what you're saying for then? I think it's generally understood iOS 10.2 contains changes

Seemingly not everyone agrees with that given all the over-emphasized focus on just minor things like emoji updates as if there is nothing else.

There's only "minor things" because it is a minor update. Major updates happen annually.

I don't really see the problem.

How would you implement a dark mode? Just out of curiosity. I want to see the feedback of the users that want it. Because I can not wrap my head around a way that would offer a good looking and consistent interface.
This page shows how it could be done, Apple already has dark color scheme standards
https://developer.apple.com/ios/human-interface-guidelines/visual-design/color/

It might need some tweaking though, like making it darker or removing blue elements

And yet there are plenty of those who seem to supposedly have an issue with something like that somehow just focusing on emojis and implying that's the only thing that has been touched.

Small twekas here and there, most notably:

1. Group Notifications
2. Mobile Data toggle for Control Centre
3. Dark Mode
4. An option to completely disable / hide / turn off the Today View
5. Apple Dictionary in spotlight
6. Per App Passcode
7. Passcode / Touch ID to turn off the phone
8. More dynamic wallpapers (though I suspect this will come with iOS 11 since the 5C will be unsupported thus not needing the colorful ones to match the body of it)
9. Move the Shuffle and Repeat buttons up like in iOS 8 (iOS 9 had the most beautiful and functional Now Playing screen)
10. Offline Siri for stuff that Voice Control can already do
11. World Clock widget

[doublepost=1480604521][/doublepost]I think Apple will add some features to iPad on iOS 11. And it will be exclusive to the newer models. (Ipad Pro 2)
