I know what I'm talking about. iPhone 5s with iOS 10 has some lags in Notification Center, widget center and so on. It's slower opening app and in some animations. iOS 9 is better, iOS 8 way better. You can't think a new iOS is faster in older device. Is usable but not fast!!

I see your point and As I already mentioned before, I think the biggest thing is, it runs efficiently, NOT fast.

Also, one individual I know is literally afraid to update their device from iOS 9, yet they tell others not to upgrade to iOS 10, because it will ruin or slow their which is completely false and lying to others. Others have proven it runs fine with very little issues. How would someone Who doesnt upgrade to iOS 10 predict what it will do, yet others have reported positive results for the most part. I'm impressed with the 5s running 10.3 thus far.

I did an iTunes update of my 5S last night. Everything went smoothly and it's running just fine right now. No glitches, smooth and no perceptible change in speed.

The 5 is different than 5s. One is 32 bit and the other 64. Don't assume that because the 5 is fine, that the 5s will be...

That niggling detail out of the way.... I updated from 10.1 and it seems fine.

How is the battery life on 10.3? (I'm already charging my phone at least once a day on 8.3)

Hi, I upgraded last night. First impression: the little beast has been invigorated with I don't know what but it feels snappier. Placebo effect? Maybe but I have no complaint to make after one day. iOS runs very smooth and I see no lag. Maybe it's just me. Also, I did a complete wipe and install "as new" and got rid of multiple apps I never used. Mostly News apps. I also upgraded through iTunes. No OTA. "As for battery life, I will be back when it's at 12% when the OS tells me recharge. We'll see then.

Hello. Here are the numbers for the battery life after upgrading to 10.3. Standby: 47 hours. Usage: 4 h 40 min. To me, it's the same as 10.2 and 9.3.5. My numbers have been constantly decreasing after 9.2. Same for my iPad. At least I like very much 10.3. Again: 10.3. is much more fluid and snappy.

So I finally upgraded... Unfortunately, I'm experiencing significant battery drain :(

Me too. What do you mean by "significant"? Can you put it in numbers. My 5 S has lost about 1 hour of battery life. Same on my iPad Air 2. Battery life is not part of the strength of Apple I guess. Still I can't bear the idea of using Android more than 2-3 hours. So I guess it makes me a captive customer of Apple. I have more friends using an Android device and they don't complain about battery life. They swear they are satisfied with their phones running Jelly Bean and Kit-Kat (like me they don't have flagships). Actually, they have no complaint. Let's say, I do the Android complaint for them. o_O

Can't complain. Charged my 5S over night. It is now at 77 per cent with 1h42m of usage and 14h59m standby.
iOS Version 10.3.1 (14E304)
