Granted, this beta period has changed Apples patterns for release times, I don't see anymore betas for 10.0 being released. 3 days and a wake up before the GM. What would be the point? What data could Apple get that would help them, in such a short period of time?

no more beta

too close to the event and the GM has already been built and put on the new iPhones.

the reason why we probably got beta 8 was for security fixes from the iOS 9.3.5 update.

I've learned never to say never this year. But I don't think we're going to see a beta before Wednesday and the likely release of the GM. Now, what might be interesting is if Apple actually just goes ahead and releases the final release on Wednesday, too. That would put the exclamation point on this otherwise somewhat bizarre beta year!

I agree with most of the others here. GM next Wednesday after the event. No betas before that but I expect 10.1 beta 1 by the end of September.

iOS 10 GM next week

maybe a GM2 thrown in there if any major issues found between GM on the 7th and the public release on september 14th.

More likely to just be a 10.0.1 fix on release date of the new iPhones. If they seed a second GM, then all the devices that have been made won't be on the second GM. So a 10.0.1 would need to be seeded no matter what. So might as well wait until iPhones drop to seed it.

Yes it does. There are no more betas. Go back and look at the last 9 years of iOS. There isn't a beta build within the last 2 weeks before the event. The GM is done and loaded on new iPhones. Why do these threads keep popping up.

To be fair, if anything was found in beta 8, they could still release beta 9 and simply release a day-one patch for the new iPhone's.

But, I do believe that's it.

Why bother release a beta 9 then? Why not just save it until 10.0.1 where they may find more things to patch in the next 2 weeks? just my thought.

Agreed . Come in here "looking" for an actual date and see nothing relevant

Basically this. The new phones will be in people's hands within 3 weeks, and they'll have demo units on display running final software next wednesday when they announce it for the press to play with. So yea, at this point they've already packaged the final build and sent it through the necessary channel with kisses and hugs.

Man, hard to believe that we're pretty much 0-1 betas away from public release. iOS 10 still seems so unfinished and nowhere near ready for the public. :/

Why exactly?
Messages apps are still pretty slow and buggy, lockscreen is buggy (for music playback, can't really scrub from left edge of screen without widgets view popping into place), dismissing Message quick-reply is really clunky and not smooth at all, Apple Music is still slow as hell from the lockscreen, some freezing and odd behavior, really odd locking sound, etc.

I really hope they eventually add a toggle for lockscreen widgets. I don't like how many usability sacrifices had to be made to add it in.

Truth of the matter is iOS 10 beta 8 is probably going to have a few fixes, make note of the build version because I bet it won't go up by very much when the GM releases. iOS 10 beta 8 has been stable for me on an iPhone 6S Plus. I'm not sure why Suckfest is having so many problems unless it's an older device.

In the past the final beta before GM has had a few performance issues, but nothing crazy, it's typically fixed in the GM and a second GM isn't released unless there is a critical patch for the OS.

The last beta to GM usually has the most amount of bug fixes. Hence the long wait between GM and final beta. Remember. The betas we receive are 2-3 betas behind internal betas. When they seeeded beta 5 they were working on beta 8 internally. That's why it takes a few builds for bug fixes to reach developers. Wait till the GM before you say it's unfinished.

I meant as of right now, as of beta 8... I hope you're right about the GM
