So more than one event or more than events from just today?
More than one event - occuring in the next couple of days and not just the one which is scheduled for today!

I hate to see the calendar widget empty if no events are occuring today (for instance) - so instead it would be nice to see what's scheduled for tomorrow or the next day..

There is another calendar widget called what's next. Have you added that one?

I'm also looking for an option like this. Either in the stock calendar app or a new widget.
I'd like to see a few upcoming all-day events in my widget. Not just an event that is occurring that day.

You can try using the Up Next widget. Also there are some 3rd party widgets that can do something like that, like Agenda: Widget+ or EventsWidget or WidgetCal and some others.

I've used the stock calendar, aCal Lite, Calendars by Readdle....the latter 2 I enjoyed but they don't have compatible widgets.

Nearly every entry in my calendar is an all-day event. I just want to see a peek of upcoming events in the widget. Like, all upcoming events for the next week would be great.

So I'm interested in what's working for everyone else.

EventsWidget.....

I use to show both events and all day events stored in my calendar which is linked to my Google account with multiple calendars that are a mix of my own and subscribed.

You can pick options such as which calendars you want to show details from, how many days or number of events to list and options for buttons you can show\disable for doing different things.

I've had no issues with EventsWidget since upgrading to iOS10...still displays fine in the Today view.

I also use EventsWidget (free) however it's not updated to the iOS10 UI so I'm not sure if it works ok in iOS10. Another great alternative is Agenda: Widget+ (1.99 dollar) which is iOS10 ready as mentioned before multiple times.
WidgetCal also hasn't been updated to iOS10 UI but could work great for some.
Most of the non-updated widgets work the same way as they did before, they just don't have the white background and a few other things that the newer design provides.

How do you change calendar view to list?
There are some options typically on the top right in the Calendar app (like one with lines in it) that you an select and change the view.

OK, I think I enabled list view correctly but the all-day event (a friend's birthday) is still not showing up in the Up Next widget. Instead it's a work meeting which is two days after that birthday.

Not sure that would really affect the Up Next widget as much as it would/could the Calendar widget.

Yes, and I deleted the stock Apple calendar widget and downloaded the free app Agenda which is highly configurable and handles widgets flawlessly. Suggest you try it.

This widget was worth the $1.99 deleted all calendars and added the widget to notifications instead and worked flawlessly!!!

somewhere warm, dark, and cozy
I had the same problem. Switching to list view fixed the Calendar widget bug. But the Up Next widget still displays nothing. Any other tips on how to fix the Up Next widget as well? I don't use third-party apps. Thanks in advance.
