Get over it its not coming to older phones.

Why should they turn a feature on for 3 phones in the first beta but not for others?

Why should they turn a feature on for 3 phones in the first beta but not for others?

Because it's early beta and it's quite common that features aren't fully enabled across all devices. A recent example being Rich Notifications not enabled yet in beta 1 for iPhone 6 and below.

No one is saying Raise to Wake WILL come to iPhone 6 and below in a later build. No Apple documentation states what devices get it. It literally just says "using the motion coprocessor" on their web site. That is extremely vague, because M7 and M8 are also motion coprocessors. When they could have said something "using the M9 motion coprocessor in the latest iPhones". It's that very vague wording they used that opens the door to it being possibly coming to other phones and just wasn't enabled in such an early beta build. (Again, not an uncommon thing to happen with such early builds)

So please tell us, how does it being in the 'processor' (I think you mean the SoC) make it more efficient? The whole point of these co-processors for dedicated tasks is they don't have to wake the processor (CPU) isn't it? So whilst the M9 might be more efficient I'm not really sure how that is through virtue of being on the SoC. it's not like they only just made these co processors efficient at their tasks.

The m8 was manufactured using a 90nm process, the m9 being included in the AX is being fabricated 14-16nm. That by itself is a big difference. It being a separate chip also likely required some sort of signal handling/amplification to get it to the AX processor.

Rich notifications now work on older devices in b2.
You interact with them exactly as you would any notification in iOS 9, except you see much more content- like the entirety of a message thread. You pull down to reply.

Guys,I DON'T think "Raise to Wake" is making it's way to Iphone 6 and below even after public release in September..
I'm sad now and it's looking 100% sure that this feature is not coming to older devices....

Strange. What do you see?

surfing the around web a little bit on some blogs, It seems I'm not the only having this issue. So I don't know if they just aren't supported on the iphone 5 or if it's a bug

So you're saying you get peek and pop and pressure sensitivity through a software change.

Yes, and it does work. Long press to peek, add more finger surface area to pop. Not as smooth as 3D Touch but it works and it's not a hack, it's really invoking 3D Touch code but with a different method.

Where are you seeing these work? Or are you stating theoretically only?

It mainly depends on you. We can only say it is stable enough as a beta. But you still need to do some research in this forum before deciding to install it.
