There is a solution using tvOS beta profile to block OS update check. I believe tvOS and iOS are the same under the hood, just different user interface.

this is by far the most easy to operate method to do this. just install the profile to your deveice and if already downloaded delete the ios10 update from your iphone. no more nagging again !

Just delete the download from your storage. After that it should only download when you are connected to iTunes.

and how can i do that pls?

The real notifications started today for me...so annoying.

nvm i just deleted it, still i can see the number 1 on settings.

Or it will only go away when it does not think there is any update.
Try installing tvOS beta profile to block updates.
Not available on my iTunes Store and not interested on doing that either, pretty much waiting for ios 10.1 and a possible improvement (or bug fix) to battery life on the iphone 6s.

Thx anyways.

Well, that is just a profile and it is not related to any region of iTunes Store.
But no worries. :)

Well i deleted the update on the iphone today and also disabled the iphone automatic updates feature, hope that'll do it, i'm not planning staying on ios 9.3.5 forever just giving time to Apple to fix their stuff.

I just got off the phone with Apple.

They told me to go to Setting, then notifications, then to the App Store, then go to Allow Notificaion then turn that option off.
:D Thank you Apple! I don't want to download iOS 10 on my iPhone 6 because I'm scared that it may cause me some problems with the Verizon network that is my carrier.
[doublepost=1476493345][/doublepost]Apple is wrong -- I have App Store Notifications turned off permanently and I still get five or six requests to update every day!

How about if I add so much music to my iPhone but there's no room left to download the update? Fill up all the memory? Would that work?

Sure, although there are other fairly simple methods to do it without that, as mentioned in this thread.

My iPad Air2 and both iPhones have had notifications in App Store set to 'off' for years. It does stop the little bubble notification on apps from showing up, but DOES NOT stop the little bubble notification in Settings for IOS updates.

It seems that Apple's thinking is similar to Microsoft.... "You really need this update!!" o_O

One way to put it off for more than a few hours before it tries to corner you again...

Go into Settings > General > Manage Storage... delete the iOS 10 update download.

It leaves me alone for a while until it ends up downloading it again (plugged in and on wifi).

It really is enough to drive you mental -- and it always seems to show up right when you're in the middle of something important.

Well, doing something like installing the tvOS profile can take care of it on a more long term basis until you device to remove it essentially.

I wonder if I'll be able to stop my iOS devices to update to iOS 11 with the tvOS profile. Literally, there is nothing new for me in it for iPhone. The only thing that has changed is control centre for which I have to get used to once again. Some good looking features for iPad which I'll never end up using.

I think Files is coming to iPhone, which might be more useful than you think. But yeah, I'm planning to add the tvOS profile after 10.3.3-5 whatever the last update ends up being, at least until iOS 11.1. Hopefully that trick will keep working.
