So they removed 3D Touch multitasking because of the iPhone X, but didn't include an alternative for everyone not on their new flagship phone.

Now, I don't really buy into the whole planned obsolescence thing normally, buy this is just plain old stupid. Why remove a feature to make room for another feature, if the other feature doesn't apply on most phones?

That’s what I don’t get, I have an iPhone 7, I used 3D Touch to multitask EVERYTIME, I never used the home button. So they take it away because anew phone doesn’t need it? This is one thing that pisses me off.

You people will never be satisfied. EVER. I'm guessing much of your life is a disappointment. I'm running the GM and have zero issues. It's great and I'm very happy with it. There's no lag because I don't measure my happiness in milliseconds. You shouldn't either. :D
The lag is noticeable though and provides a choppy experience. I should pretend to be happy with an update that made my phone slower in exchange for some cute new icons and a new control center?

Whats the best way to restore to ios 10 and set up as new?

Remove the beta profile then connect the phone to iTunes & click “Restore”. It will install iOS 10.3.3 on it then before 19 Sep, when iOS 11 goes live for everybody.

I’m on PB 9 and it’s smoother than 10.3.3. I downgraded the day before yesterday because of the home button delay and figured I’d just keep the phone on the mature version of its shipping OS. I also missed the disconnect vs. shut off in control center. As far as the home button is concerned sure, the animation begins immediately when you push the home button but it’s also slower so I feel like iOS 11 is still better in that regard.

It’s honestly hard to explain but 11 just feels more smooth overall IMO. Can’t wait to get GM installed.

How does iOS 11 run on the iPod Touch? My daughter has a 6th gen, and I’m slightly unsure wether to upgrade or not...
IMO it's noticeably slower but still usable. Individual experiences vary though.

Underwhelmed would come to mind. Didn’t run any of the betas. I like it on my iPad but on the phone, not really blown away at all
thats tragic I already told myself I would not install the GM or iOS 11 until I get the new iPhone and am forced to use iOS 11. If I don't get the new phone I wont update until at least 11.1

The most prominent features, other than CC, won't obvious on the phone until after GA next week. 3rd parties plugging into Files app properly and AR apps are the two most obvious examples where App devs can show what they've been able to do with the new APIs in iOS 11.

They took it away just to show that irritating home button delay on 7 and 7+

Apps will need to be updated to use the proper API to create their folders in the "On my iPhone" section. You will not have free reign to create files and folders on the root in there though, if that's what you're expecting.

Can I just clean install or do I need a developer account I remember back then the gold master didn't need a dev account

Installed it on my cellular iPad Air 2.
Went straight back to 10.3.3 --> FaceTime unusable, rotation problems, erratic unlocking behavior, numerous lags, got hot doing nothing. Now that it's downgraded, everything is back to normal : fast & smooth.

On the contrary, runs very well on iPhone 7. Gonna stick with it.

I seriously doubt that truer words have ever been uttered. What a bunch of whining, sniveling little ... well, anyway, I'm with you... no issues to speak of here.

For the people that have installed the GM, what issues are you noticing on an iPhone 7?

None really... pretty happy overall with it.

The overreaction to a frame drop in 3D Touch, and a tiny delay on hitting home, is funny the first time when someone flies off the handle over it. After the 100th time of reading the same whinge it's just plain tedious.

I'm happy with it, very smooth. Even with everything I've been asking of it and app updates my battery is holding up quite well. Hoping for even better as it gets more aclimated on the device(iphone7). Oh, and those wallpapers, nice! Yeah right. The only one that won't get all F'd up by being covered with icons is the black. Now if we could just arrange our icons where we wanted....Those walls would actually be usable, some at least. One of my pet peeves, no icon placement, but then I'd have the perfect phone.

My safari is lagging pretty bad..... sometimes the website just freeze and I need to close safari and reopen
