My battery life in my iPhone 6 Plus was getting pretty bad on 10.x, and literally took a huge nosedive in 11.0. So much so that I initially went back to 10.x. The device *is* almost 4 years old, so I found this little program called Coconut Battery, and it told me that I was well over 600 charge cycles and that the battery only had the capacity of 38% of its original 2915mAh. So yeah it was hooped. Got a new factory battery installed for $50 and honestly I could not be happier with my almost 4 year old iPhone. Runs iOS 11 like a champ now. New battery made all the difference here.
iPhone 7+ 128GB AT&T on 11.1.1
Has been factory reset (11.0)
11.1 was via iTunes
11.1.1 was OTA.
Looks like I have reached the improvement plateau for my device.
Battery 56%
Usage 03:19
Standby 06:10
I am routinely getting 6-7+ hours out of a full charge from my normal use. About 70% or so of what I was able to get on 10.3.3.
Just continue to hope that further updates will improve this.![]()
I consider IOS 11 a downgrade. It certainly didn’t improve the functionality of my iPhone 7 Plus. My iPhone’s battery drains phenomenally fast. With 10, I used to get almost two days of use. Now, I can barely make it through half a day.
Yeah but I would rather have 2 day battery life than a newer app.If you didn't update, chances are you would miss out on updates and improved functionality in your favorite apps. Already the best iOS devs are pushing iOS 11 only updates out. If you are not on iOS 11, you can only use the old versions of those apps.
That’s pretty bad, even on iOS 11. On my 7 Plus I used to get around 10 hours of usage on iOS 10. Around 9 hours on iOS 11. Here is a screenshot I took last night.
They have intentionally destroyed the battery of the 7 Plus to get more money from battery replacements. I am getting exactly half of what the 8 Plus users get. 8 Plus users are easily getting 14 hoursThe 8 Plus gets good battery life, or so I’ve heard.
Lmao. The latest update is comical the way it's ruined my 7 Plus battery. Take a look at this. 4 hrs 36 minutes of use and already dipping into the twenties. Thanks Apple for ruining everything I loved about a kickass phone. Send in more emojis in the next update. That's just what I need.
Yeah that is after restoring.Have you tried restoring and setting it up as new?
Wasn't it kind of similar with iOS 10 in the earlier days?iOS11 has turned my SE into a complete embarrassment in every area.
Battery life is less than 5 hours & there's times, almost daily, where it lags/freezes for a solid minute.
Yeah I did.But did you set it up as new?

This isn't a coincidence. The SE performs and has the best battery life on iOS 9, the OS the phone shipped with. iPhone 7 Plus performs the best with zero delays anywhre on iOS 10 (the OS the phone shipped with) and has the same battery life as 8 Plus on iOS 10. Its obvious what Apple is doing here.Yea but even worse. The last good os I had was 9 when I first got the SE
I was walking that user specifically recalling very similar posts being made by that user for a while in relation to iOS 10 as well.Yeah I did.
Let's drop this excuse right now. We are just 2 betas away from the "perfect" 11.3 and I am not seeing anything close to perfection.
Now the only question is if iOS 12 will be to iOS 11 what iOS 10 was to iOS 9.
Sounds like things got sorted out in iOS 10:Yea but even worse. The last good os I had was 9 when I first got the SE
ios10 period has been a battery life murderer for me but 10.3.1 seems like it brought it back to where it was on ios9. Last night I was at 8h12m with 18% left and 6-7 hours has been the average.
What have they told you in the bug report? If you haven't sent one:Lmao. The latest update is comical the way it's ruined my 7 Plus battery.
