Just checking with some of y’all folks I know the drill with beta software we assume the bugs and stuff but I just want to find out if anyone else here is dealing with battery issues as bad as I’m seeing them. My iPad Pro Cellular/WiFi 256 GB seems ok but my iPhone 7 Plus 256 GB for VZW running 11.1 Public Beta the battery is awful. My phone was at 60% when I fell asleep last night and I was almost late because it died overnight from 2 am to 7:30 am with no usage. As far as this am goes I charged it for a bit it was at 30% when I first started charging it now it’s down to 21% just from me typing this on WiFi. I’m hoping for a quick 11.1 Beta 2 update or I’m downgrading bc this is crazy this battery life is awful. Unless my battery is shot I can’t really tell the difference like I said bc my iPad seems to be fine. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Battery life on my 6s is improved on 11.1 beta 1 over 11.0. I'm getting five plus hours of usage without any tweaks such as low battery mode. I hope that to see continued improvements, as this is much less than I was getting on iOS 10.

I seriously doubt your 7+ battery is already damaged, definitely ios11's fault. At this point it's looking like I'll be staying on 10 for a LONG time. Maybe apple will get it right by 11.3.1 but I'm not holding my breath.

I updated to 11.1 one from 11 thinking the battery life will improve. It’s down by 1 hour. Disappointed! iOS 10.3 was the best.

I have to say that my iphone 6s get about 6 hours of use and about 12-13 hours on standby :)

The current battery life is frustrating. It's up there with people assuming this hasn't been discussed in several other current threads.

That is awful. My 6s on iOS 9 got 8.5 hours of screen on time. Around 7.5 on iOS 10.
I tried go back to ios 9 from ios 10- is not the same, the interface is more comfortable on ios 10 and the apple music :)
Now i with IOS 11.1 and love it :)

Drains an average of 10% per hour with light usage. 7+. Did a full restore yesterday and no change. Hopefully beta 2 comes out today.

My battery life on my 7+ has gone to pot since installing the beta. It's definitely related to the beta. I'm going to try to suck it up and tough it out until the next release is out (and I hope it fixes it).

Cheers,
Bobbie

You must have a super battery because I never got over 6.30 hours on my 6s and that’s even with a brand new battery.

I was mostly on WiFi. I turned off background app refresh and location services for unnecessary apps.

I noticed a 1 hour drop in usage times after installing iOS 10.0.0.

I’m experiencing a 1 hour drop after installing iOS 11 on my 7 Plus. Weird.

This is crazy I’m having exactly the same problem. The problem is I can’t downgrade. I do only have backup on iCloud not on iTunes
Any idea how I have to downgrade then?

Battery USAGE with ios 11.1 was crazy. Solved with:

1) Disabled Location for all systems services and app
2) Disable background app updating
3) Disabled EI SIRI and all SIRI options

So you basically took away everything that makes your smart phone smart

THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Mary I didn't notice the GPS icon up on the top right.

iOS 11 seems to have allowed a lot of apps to go back to "always" when I clearly disabled them last year for this very battery drain issue.

Google is especially to blame. Location was back on for everything, even the freaking GBoard keyboard.

I have a feeling my battery will be back to normal today.

Unlikely. The icon is location services. Not GPS. Often your iPhone gets an idea of its location from nearby wifi access points. It very rarely fires up the power hungry gps.
