iOS 11.1 Beta 2 Bug Fixes, Changes and Improvements

iPhone 7 plus, a few hours listening to music with AirPods, then normal usage.

I’m amazed at how many people have lost their minds over a small delay when clicking the home button. I get that it is an issue, but a delay of a fraction of a second is quite trivial. Some people act like Apple stole their first born to be part of the human cenitpad.

I hold my phone in my left hand, so for me personally 3D Touch app switcher is much quicker and more convenient.

Apple need to incorporate a "handed-ness" option into the phone, so you can swap the side of the screen for features like 3D touch app switcher etc. I hold the phone in my right hand, but being able to press on the right side of the screen instead of the left would make me use this more.

Can someone please check if the heic bug for burst shot is still there?

If the camera settings is in High Efficiency (.heic), when taking burst shots, it is save as jpeg. While taking one photo saves as .heic.

Burst Shots should be in .heic as well!
 
Anyone else having these issues in beta 2:
- App Store not loading, even after killing app and restarting it.
- Pull down and search for apps not working intermittently.
- Issues with Siri searching for Music with Apple Music

I have had App Store sticking to reloading for some time. Gets fixed. Try reboot. Not a problem with the beta I think, maybe at the server end.
 
Battery seems to be back to 10.3.3 levels, if not a tad better. Also, the rear of the phone near the camera is not heating up anymore. Still getting the blank Apple music player widget on lock screen, but I'm wondering now if that's related to my Apple TV somehow, since it only happens at home.

Still having the issue. WiFi Assist OFF and Auto-Join ON.

When I see it in LTE and unlock phone, it will connect. Over 18 hours of testing it, Cellular Data shows a very minimal 158 KB of usage. Beginning to think maybe it’s the wireless connection? Just odd, it only affects the phones and not the iPads.

Other than this and it’s not like this is causing massive issues, 11.2 beta 2 is doing great.

I have WiFi assist on, wonder if that makes a difference.

Does it still have that bug where the right half of the screen would go black & unusable when attempting to do 2 things at once?

edit: just installed PB 2 and this bug is FIXED. YAY!

I have that issue as well when I am at home and watching, or HAVE watched, something on my AppleTV. the appleTV Remote app seems to connect to the appleTV (if it was previously running but now minimized) and tosses that blank music player widget up on the lock screen.

Closing the TV remote app from task switcher seems to get rid of it for me, but obviously I'd rather not have to do that.

In my case I don't even have the remote app installed, I just use the one in CC. I'll do some more testing with it tonight, because it may be "intended behavior".
 
I installed beta 2 on my iPad Air 2 overnight and got a prompt this morning to set up ApplePay. That’s the first time that’s happened.
 
Found a bizarre new bug, again dealing with phone calls. When receiving a call with the device locked, then hanging up, there are glitches. Namely, the lock screen you're returned to is blacked out completely; the wallpaper is gone. Unlocking the phone and entering notification center shows the same result. Locking and unlocking the phone again returns things to normal. I can't speak to reproducibility, as this was the first instance.
 
Yesterday, I was driving with navigation running and entire phone froze. I could continue listening to music thru Bluetooth, but no response, I even received a phone call and I was able to answer with handsfree system on my truck. I hung up and phone still was unresponsive, then screen went black and I pressed power button and phone turned on, but navigation and music closed like the phone had restarted. Weird to say the least.

Same happened to me but with 11.1 Beta 1. I was using Google Maps and Spotify hooked up to my car via USB. Google Maps stopped updating and the screen was unresponsive, although music kept playing. Home button didn't work. Tried to lock and unlock the phone since that sometimes fixes touchscreen issues, but the screen just dimmed (but didn't turn off). I couldn't really screw with it since I was on the highway, and about five minutes later the phone finally locked. When I unlocked it again maps and music had closed and I had to use my PIN to get back in.

How is iPhone SE on the 11.1 beta 2?
Does it again have 10 hours of use on a single charge, like I'm currently having on iOS 10?
