Why!? I always turn it off and prefer to manually adjust. Maybe something to do with the OLED iPhone.

I’m assuming however it worked before with auto brightness on is how it works now. There’s just no option to turn it off

It’s one of the icon changes I actually don’t mind, even though it lacks character (like most of Jony Ives software designs), at least it’s still recognisable.

It's not that I necessarily hate the design, but the fact that the design used to have meaning. It was a pencil and brush used for designing something. Now it just looks like the letter A (a bad one at that) and has no meaning.
