Just after posting that it was stuck on update it updated. Performance seems to be on par with beta 6. 3D Touch still jittery. Lag on opening/closing apps.

I spose they won’t optimise 3D Touch until the very end. I hope they don’t leave it as it is. 6s here.

Edited....Needed to reword to get my point across properly.

Flicking from left to right quickly on the home screen is back to normal on my 6s. I used to get the odd stutter and had to flick twice to scroll to the next page of icons.

Would have been a perfect time to sneak in a dark mode with the eclipse happening.
I get the joke but...

I can't fathom that there are people who think:
1. That Apple would "sneak in" something that would require months of developer attention like Dark Mode unannounced in a late beta.
2. That Smart Invert Colors is not Dark Mode for everyone else.
3. That LCD iPhones are getting the real Dark Mode.

Better not leave it as it is, or what? You’ll be a bit upset and still upgrade?

Of course I’ll still upgrade. I was just making a statement. Obviously it came across wrong and I should of reworded it.

Edited. Have now reworded my original post.

I've installed the last two betas on my iPad 9.7 hoping to see the removal of input lag (tapping an icon to first launch an app doesn't result in it launching instantly) and lag when pinching to return home from an app.

I doubt this will be any different.

Theres still a second delay on shutting app using home button on 7 plus compared to ios 10.3.3

Right away I noticed how much zippier the animations are on my 7Plus. Everything feels faster. 3DTouch is better but still lags some.
Glad to hear optimization is being taken seriously. Beta 6 was already a huge improvement! Still lots of visual glitches though, really hope they can sort them out pretty quick.
