Hey guys, since around beta 4 to now, beta 10, my shuffle mode is stuck on when I try to play a playlist. This is on iPhone 7+, my iPad Pro 12.9 v2 does not have this problem.

It’s driving me insane, is anyone else having this issue on iPhone 7/7+? Pressing Shuffle button or Play button on the playlist view just starts another shuffle of the playlist, there seems to be no way to play the songs in order. When I force close the app then start music and play a playlist it starts fresh in shuffle as well.

Anyone have any ideas, I must be missing something, but I have never had this problem.

It’s madness!

Edit: Since this post I have signed out of iCloud Music, deleted all music playlists, and re-signed in and rebuilt the playlists, the problem persists.

If I delete the Music app to try that, can I easily re-install it? Where is it located to re-install?

Anyone have any other ideas to help?

So...the issue is with what button you are pressing.

The shuffle button that you see when opening the playlist or album starts the playlist/album in shuffle mode.

To stop that, simply open up the song that is playing, swipe up until you see the highlighted "shuffle" button below the song info and tap it.

Now your default will be "not shuffled" for playlists and albums, while still being able to shuffle them by hitting the top shuffle button when you start them when opening up the full playlist or album.

You are correct! That solved my problem, thank you so much for taking the time to help me out on that one, seems counter intuitive for it to be buried down there the main shuffle button should over ride anything, but oh well, I am good now!!

Well...the main issue is that with these betas, I think it defaulted to shuffle. Believe me, I had the same issue and posted it as a bug for three straight versions until I found out that was the issue.

Now that you unclicked it, you can shuffle a playlist when opening that but not set shuffle on permanently for everything just by doing it. Only clicking shuffle below the song now will do that.
