It's an extremely horrible release on anything except the iPhone X. I can confirm this using a 7 Plus and X simultaneously.

"extremely horrible on everything else"...no hyperbolic extreme absolutes to be found anywhere there.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it extremely horrible - keep in mind, I've been using iOS since the 2.x days and the two releases I would call horrible to the extent that the devices were basically bricked are 4.0 on the 3G and 7.0 on the iPhone 4. However, as previously stated, the UI changes in iOS 11 just don't make any sense to me and as such it makes the OS feel less slick than previous versions despite the fact that I don't find it to be slower or buggier than 10.x or 9.x.

I might also add that I'm talking about the 11.2.1 user experience. 11.0 was considerably worse both in terms of performance and battery life. My personal impression is that iOS 11 seems to be a rushed-out version, it kinda reminds me of when I went from 10.6 to 10.7 on my computer - it just felt like they didn't go all the way with details and optimization like they did with 10.6. The entire 10.7 experience felt really odd and I get the same feeling with iOS 11. When they finally released 10.8 a year later, it felt like Apple really committed themselves to fixing all the minor annoyances that were in 10.7 and I'm expecting the same from iOS 12 later this year :)

Finally, I'm speaking as an iPhone user here - I'm sure user satisfaction with 11 is much higher amongst iPad users due to the new multitasking/dock features they added for the iPad. I've used it myself and it's really a great user experience improvement.

For Pro 9.7 owners who have upgraded 11.2, how is performance and battery life for you? I want some of the new features but I'm wary of the bugs and the new NC and CC. For some stupid reasons they took away the two column widgets in today's view and the latter seems require a lot more finger gymnastics just to toggle things that were just a swipe or two away in iOS 10.

I was happier with iOS 10 public beta on my iPhone 5 which was the oldest supporting device then I am with iOS 11 on my iPad Pro 10.5 which is one of the most powerful iOS devices.

That’s too bad it’s running poorly on your 7+. My 6S runs excellent on the latest versions of iOS11. I thought 10.3.3 wasn’t anything spectacular and my performance and battery life are equal if not better. Mind you, I’m speaking of the latest versions of ios11 not the earliest versions. I remember early iOS10 wasn’t anything to brag about either. There is definitely a performance difference between my X and my 6S but I would never compare performance on older phones to the latest flagship especially since the X was released with iOS11. I’m actually impressed that my 2 year old phone still kicks booty and is perfectly usable on the most recent operating system

I am running iOS 11 on my iPad Air 2 and it works great. I do not detect any slowness and I am able to multi-task. I often will have Netflix app streaming a video in split screen while typing up a document in Pages with a connected bluetooth keyboard. I have been able to edit video using LumaFusion with multiple video tracks (three) and applied multiple effects on each track (color filters and keyframed animations). I feel that iOS 11 is a nice productivity operating system.
Getting the most out of hardware purchases that last a long time is always a desirable goal.

iOS 11 flat out destroyed my 7 battery life and ruined the home button. I went from charging once every 1.5 days on iOS 10 to charging at 3PM every day on iOS 11. Apple also added a delay to the home button on being clicked to the iPhone 7 which makes the solid state home button noticeably slow. It's the worst iOS release ever for me. It runs perfectly on my X but it doesn't treat older devices as good and Apple enabling throttling in iOS 11 on iPhone 7 furher lowered my opinion of it.

Well that depends of pretty much the device you have OP, i just get an ipad pro and yeah it is ok however it completely destroyed my ipod touch 6 experience...

In general I'm quite happy with iOS 11, although I've been getting a few notification-related bugs in the last few days. Bugs, as in notifications not appearing on the lock screen. Most of the times it has been happening with Spark, so it may have to do with the app, but there have been a couple of instances with other apps as well.

Also, very sporadically when swiping to the widget-screen from the lock screen it's blank. This one irks me quite a bit, but luckily it's maybe 1 out of 50 times it happens, but a restart is required to get it working again.

I've been very happy with iOS 11 both on my iPhone 7 and my iPad Air 2. There was a hit to the battery life on the initial release of 11, but that went away with later updates. The only bug I seem to be encountering right now is that when I'm listening to music on my iPhone, some songs are much louder than others. It didn't do this on iOS 10, they all played at the same volume level. Otherwise 11 is great and I really love a lot of the new features (the customizable control center and the updates to the Notes app are big hits for me).

On my SE with light to average usage i get 2 - 3 days out of it before it gets to like 20% It's very fast, and doesn't freeze or glitch
100% Screen brightness, with 4G on, and WiFi

my only gripe, is that HDR mode doesn't stay " On " it always goes back to " Auto " after 5 minutes and games seem to run the battery down

I agree it is not bad, it is horid.

Been running all the latest public betas on my iPhone 7, iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 and iOS 11 has been very stable and smooth.

I'm happy with iOS 11. I have no complaints, other then then turning on airplane mode in the control center doesn't really turn on airplane mode. That change is ludicrous.

Agreed! Despite all the doom and gloom forum posts 11 (up to 11.2.5 beta 5 now) have all been pretty good for me. A few bugs here and there but I expect that on betas.

Running it on an iPad mini 4, 7+, and X and I really can’t complain.

The CC issue is a bit annoying but I’m getting used to it. One thing I do t like is WiFi will sometimes come back on even though I’m not near a previously used signal. Might just be a beta bug but we’ll see.

I am okish with iOS 11 but def not the one I love (I love iOS 9 more). iOS 10 overall is still better. But, I am using Apple Watch series 3 (now with cellular) so I can only use iOS 11.

The recent beta randomly freezes the app I am using (any app). This happens intermittently but annoys quite bit. Customizable control center ends up looking like an iOS 10 control center plus screen recording and low power mode.

Key word: beta
