I've been experiencing freeze ups and not being able to use touch on my 7+ since upgrading to 11.1 and 11.1.2. Was over rebooting several times daily, and finally performed a DFU yesterday.

It can be a bit laggy too. Will probably wait on upgrading OS until it's further refined going forward (if at all.)

That's the thing, there isn't much in the way of consensus indicating something all that strong one way or another. And while "just bad" is leading, it's only doing so by one vote and a fraction of a percentage point. At the same time the "good" options combined outweigh the "bad" ones, and "neutral" just fills in the middle.

Hi just a follow up, what's your take on the current state of iOS 11 based on these two threads which seem to contradict what you said:

https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/7h62n3/what_exactly_is_wrong_with_ios_11/

https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/7h1jcg/ios_112_released/

I'm really torn right now.

I downgraded on my 6S last month - somehow it was still available.

IOS 11 is like.. the Windows Vista of IOS.

I'm running 11.2 official on my 6S+ now. 11.2 is a step improvement in terms of speed and stability from 11.1, and is very stable on my phone. It is good enough for me to start recommending to my friends to update, so maybe you should consider updating to it. Cheers!

You mean actually suggestting something as opposed to just sitting on a bashing bandwagon not offering anything?

I don't waste time reading BS that might be on this thread but what you mentioned can be said for the pumping wagon as well. I've given apple some leeway on iOS 11 but lately on 11.2 I've been having to hard reset my phone, 6s if that should matter, many more times than any other iOS I can remember since 2008. It seem like everyday it is something different, today it was the camera app acting up, earlier this week and still on going for me is imessages..

iOS 11.2 improved UI performance in homescreen scrolling and some app performance. However:

1) Dock disappears or is maligned so that half of it or even most of it is invisible (R screen edge)
2) Keyboard lag seems to have worsened
3) App switcher lag makes it nearly unsuable
4) Widget lab

Overall, this is close to driving me to the point of getting a new phone. Will factory reset soon, but that's a last ditch. As much as it pains me to say this, I might jump back to Android, like OP5t, and come back to Apple w/ the iPhone X Plus.

Someone had mentioned that resetting the keyboard dictionary helped with their keyboard lag. It does sound that you are having somewhat more/worse issues though, so doing a reset or reinstall might not be a bad idea to try.

iOS 11.2 is rock solid now. Everyone should upgrade.

Don't go to android. You'll regret it. Android is less safe, more spying, and apps are not well designed or thought out. I recommend iPhone X and you can always sell and upgrade to the X Plus next year, if it happens.

This is WAY too much of a generalization, android oreo has made lots of advancements and android apps in general are equal to IOS. In fact, I keep an android as a backup and to use without a sim card because there are some apps that are ONLY available on android.

DO NOT take this advice. 11.2 is terrible. Could break your camera focus as well. Battery life still horrific. iPhone 8 here.

I have used Android since Android 4.0. I also used quite few Android devices over the years, like Nexus 4,5,5x,6P, Motor, Moto Z, Huawei P10, Mate 10, Nova 2, P10 Lite, Xiaomi Mi6, a1 etc.

All my Android phones runs smoothly, non complains with performance. I can go say that even my 150 (after discount) Huawei P10 Lite performance as well as my iPhone 6S.

For almost all popular apps, Android version is just as good as iOS version, if not better. They day where Android is lagging is long gone.

Please stop these FUD such as "Android is less safe, more spying, and apps are not well designed or thought out.", because it simply untrue

no replacing the battery won't help we need ios 6 fluid smooth performance animations included in ios 11 but seems like apple isnt that smart to go back to the basics imho who agrees?

While I can agree with this idea for the most part, to be fair though the 6s originally came with iOS 9... and yet iOS 10.3.3 runs beautifully on it as well :)

I don't plan on updating beyond 10.3.3 unless I feel there is a consensus on the forum of a certain future version of iOS 11 which somehow has just as good performance/battery life. I don't expect this to happen but hey... a guy can dream right? :p
Good to know your 6s works ok because my plus stutters a lot and the lock screen camera, actually any camera interaction, is slow and sometimes random
