I had Dev Beta 2 on my iPad Pro. I had removed the dev profile last Friday. I installed the Public Beta profile tonight and then downloaded and installed small update. My iPad’s build number is 15A5304j.
iOS 11 DB2, update 1 had that same build ending in j. That build was only for certain devices. It may be that PB1 for those devices had that build ending in j.

Have always used the Betas but this time I am a bit hesitant with having a watch and also airpods to deal with. Are there any known issues with these and the iOS 11 PB yet?

AirPods work really well with iOS 11. I haven’t had any issues.
As far as the Watch is concerned, you don’t have to update it. Just keep it on the current public version and it should work just fine with iOS 11 on your phone.

Is the new female Siri voice in this beta?

It seems to only work for me in Siri settings (where you choose the voice and it plays a quick preview message), but not when actually using Siri.

(I'm on an iPad Pro 9.7 if that makes a difference.)

Did that. No new update found under software update.
Guess it's the same as dp beta 2 as usual, hope that it is as simple as changing the developer profile to public beta profile to switch update lines ( I'm actually not a developer, but can't resist to wait for iOS 11 new features to come in September).

Yes, if your device is on PB1, you can simply delete the developer profile and install the public beta profile.

Oh man I am sooooo tempted. Pragmatism says I should wait until the third or fourth iteration as it's my one and only phone. Anyone want to talk me out of this? (please)?
You know you're going to install it. There's no talking you out of it.

you should wait. I used beta2 for 3 days, had to repair my my watch. battery drain was too much for me (1.5% pro hour even on airplane mode, without using the phone). I reinstalled 10.3.3b4. No problems.

I just loaded the beta onto my iPad and holy cow did they improve the facial recognition it is unbelievable. it tagged my niece from birth to her current age which is 11 every single picture was her and not her sister. Amazing improvement! Apple Just Proved that You Can do Facial Recognition on Device And You Don’t Need a Server Farm to do it. Take that google!!

I just started a separate thread for this, but realized that people are already discussing PB here. Sorry. Anyway - how's your battery life? And is your device getting warm faster?

I returned to 10.3.2 after my battery started dropping fast and my iPad Pro (2nd gen 12.9") got a bit warm while doing almost nothing other than switching apps. However, now I'm having second thoughts, as it really worked fine (other than that battery/warming up thing). Maybe it was just indexing or something.

Would like to hear your experiences with this, especially if someone is using it on new iPads.

Just installed pb now.. iOS is going downhill fast

Just installed pb now.. iOS is going downhill fast

Hopefully they will change a lot of things before release.

What’s with the huge black text at the top of some apps? Taking up way too much screen space. In the messages app it’s added almost an inch of uneccasary wasted space. text in some apps looks wayyy bigger than it was

Some of the new icons look slightly androidy to me and more things being rounded off adds to the effect.

And The new App Store is hideous.. again.. almost an inch of unused white space at the top of each screen with a horribly placed bold title.

if this is the look they are going for then good luck to them

Also animations are slooooow. Not laggy or stuttering so not sure if it’s a beta bug or if it’s actually how they are going to have them

FOR ANYONE WONDERING IF PUBLIC BETA IS WORTH INSTALLING! TRUST ME! IT IS NOT! DON'T DO IT!
Just stay on stable release 10.3.2.
In my oppinion this public beta is a big MESS!
