Nope, i've never said that. ios9 is gonna be 2 years old, and ios 10 was never that good IMO, ios 11 is the only way to go if your phone is capable of it course......

I made the jump around beta 6 and the improvements that have been made are remarkable. I’m now running the latest betas on all my devices (an iPhone 7, MacBook Pro 2017, and iPad Pro 10.5) and they’re all running smoothly. I use my iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil a lot for school and it’s just as flawless as it was before. I can honestly tell you it’s a fine experience. I know all devices are different, but I’m loving it. New features, better experience, and really a cleaner overall look.

iPhone 6s was pretty good on beta 9. Overall smooth, but I had bad battery issues. A fresh restore would have fixed probably, but Im just going to wait until the official firmware drops

Once 11 is out of Beta and open for all, the articles will fly out of the presses describing the new features, etc, but many of them won't be available to us with "old" iPhones.

I'll be looking for someone to guide me toward what is and what isn't doable on my SE.

I’m running the latest beta on both a 7 and a 5S. The only real feature parity you’ll see is between older and newer iPad models - the experience on phones is pretty uniform. The exception being that the SE doesn’t have 3D touch, but most new 3D touch gestures are replaced by long presses on older phones.

The 5S runs well. Your SE should have more than enough horsepower to run the new software, it’s a quick little device.

It seems quite good on my 6+; a little laggy here and there. But then it also appears to be draining my watch battery like there's no tomorrow, which is still on the official release version.

I installed the latest public beta of iOS 11 on my 7 Plus last week. I was expecting it to be somewhat unstable, but it's been great so far. I've noticed a few visual glitches and slightly higher battery drain, but nothing that would make me want to go back to 10.3.

iOS 11 is more geared for iPad users. The benefits on the phone dwarf in comparison to what u see on iPad. Personally, no real excitement factor for iOS 11 on the phone. iPad, sure.

UI performance on iPad 10.5 is significantly degraded even on iOS 11 beta 9. I get constant animation stuttering and UI hickups.

I hope they don’t release it in this current form as ProMotion buzzword is getting meaningless with all this stuttering.

UI on 10.3.3 was gliding on smooth butter.

Can you provide some specifics? I was debating putting beta 9 on my 10.5 but Im hesitant. My friends Air 2 is a stuttering mess with animations.

If what you say is true its very unfortunate. Ive seen some youtube videos and it looks pretty smooth , which is why I ask.

Beta 2-7 worked fine for me. Public Beta 8 is really wonky for me. Sometimes apps won't open. It has frozen several times. Maybe they did some tweaks that my 6S+ is unhappy with. I dunno. I really sucks, but as expected when running Beta software. I'm just surprised it made such a big step backward...

I'd say we're late enough into the 11 Beta process that if you've waited this long you may as well just wait for RTM.

Already did it ~4-days ago, been fine, so far perfectly happy with it, beta 9 came in last night IIRC.
My 2cents as the OP; for my iPP 10.5' wifi+cell 512GB, it's been quite an enjoyable experience, YMMV.

I think it’s hard to tell.
I thought it was doing alright but when I compared my 6S with 11 PB9 to my 6 with the latest version of ios 10, I noticed the 6 was faster and more fluid.

Just like with any recent .0 release of Apple OSes, I would wait for at least a first or second patch, especially if it's for a mission critical device.
The only device that I wouldn't mind upgrading right away is the 2017 iPad Pros. Apple is already advertising them with iOS11, so I think Apple will put most of the effort into ensuring iOS11 runs great on these. I would wait at least for first patch for any older devices.

Performance is good, I was lucky to install the final version a couple nights ago before Apple stopped signing it, lol.

Every update slows down animations somewhat, this isn’t as bad as some other updates.

Battery is good too.

I don’t agree.

I ran plenty of betas on iOS 10. At the same late stage in the beta cycle, iOS 11 is ahead of iOS 10 in my opinion. If you recall, many people were commenting about poor iOS 10 performance and fluidity issues. That was straightened out with additional updates. Same thing will happen with iOS 11.

I jumped the gun and spent my Friday night backing up both my macbook and SE and downloaded beta's for both. I have to say i absolutely love iOS 11 like I haven't loved iOS since probably 6. The ability to clear or open notifications, the granular controls over control center and the fact it's on one pane again, the new app store and I know this is really small but I love having the old cell phone reception bars back. I thought I would hate the large bold font in all of the apps now but I actually think it looks nice and it's uniform.

Ok ok now i see your point this thread is about a beta ios 11, ok got it. I was thinking about upgrading to the final release not betas my bad.
