Thanks for the link. Will report it there also.

I had reported another bug in iOS11 on that link with detailed description on reproducing the bug and it still shows up there a open, so not sure if anyone from Apple actually checks this nor did I receive any feedback regarding that.

It's possible that they get thousands of such bug reports but at least some feedback would have been nice for someone to report again next time... if that's the purpose.

iOS12 is better than 11.4 (not that it was bad as such), there are minor issues as with any software but new features outweigh any of those issues.
And the wait is never ending because after 12.1 there will be wait for 12.2 and so on.

Should I, Update, wait untill 12.1 or stay on 11.4?

FieldTest still doesn't work:

12.0.1 fixed the Smart HDR/HDR function of my Max. Previously no HDR photo was taken regardless of settings. And even with Keep Normal Photo on, no duplicate was kept, which makes sense since no HDR photo was ever taken. Now it all works properly. Found a thread on Apple Support communities complaining about the issue with the new phones but I haven’t seen any report back to say whether it’s been fixed for them in 12.0.1.

Several iPhone Users are experiencing 4G droppage here in Switzerland with the carrier Swisscom. Sadly I reported this back in beta stage. It started with beta 4, I believe that's when a Baseband update for Intel modem devices was included in the update. They're projecting the issue will be fixed with iOS 12.1. Has someone else here experienced this issue?

Testing whether the automatic updating actually works. So far... not!

Every night since 12.01 has been released I’ve had my phone plugged in and on Wi-Fi & the automatic OS update feature switched on, but it’s still on 12.0.

Anyone else experiencing this?

It’s fixed in the current 12.1 beta 3

Seriously? That's awesome... hope so.

It's been broken for a long time... is the option to display the actual signal strength there? Hopeful, but doubtful, given the limited space in the 'ears' of the display on the X and later designs.

Been randomly dropping data service here in the US on ATT. Started with my update to iOS 12 and continues with 12.0.1. Super annoying to have to reboot every time it happens to get my data back working. I’m on iPhone 7 with the intel modem.

Signal strength and tx power.

Hello, i restored my previous iCloud save, everything went normal except iCloud took several hours for restoring multimedia data while i couldnt install latest iOS minor updates?
Is it normal behavior?
Thanks

I updated my iPhone Xs Max, my wifes iPhone Xs and our iPad Pro 12-inch 2.Gen and the results according to our Ubiquiti UniFi-controller is basically the same. We have 2x Ubiquiti UniFi AC HD (Qualcomm-Atheros QCA9994 chipset) access points and the results are pretty consistent.

The issue with iPhone Xs and Xs Max isn't throughput. Its fully capable of maintaining great 802.11ac RX and TX rates when located in short proximity of the access points. Speed test also verifies that its fully capable of using our 500/500 mbit bandwidth. There are no real issues there.

But the signal strength is disturbing even when located in close proximity. In my computer room sitting just 1 meter from the Access Point it's reporting a signal strength of 79% (-59 dBm). Our HomePod in the same room is reporting 99% (-47 dBm) and the HomePod in the hallway a few meters away is reporting 97% (-52 dBm). My Apple Watch Series 4 is reporting 84% (-43 dBm) but the Apple Watch doesn't seem to be supporting 5.0GHz so it's connected using 802.11n on 2.4GHz with 40Hz channel width and not to the 802.11ac on 5.0GHz with 80Hz channel width.

It becomes worse when you start moving away from the access points. The iPhone Xs and Xs Max drops the signal quality and strength much more rapidly than any other device which is being confirmed by the UniFi-controller.

It's not that much of a problem as we have stellar coverage at home with 2x UniFi AC HD access points. But at work for instance with a single Aerohive Access Point I notice that my iPhone Xs Max keeps dropping the connection when moving towards the toilet and coffee area of the work space. My iPhone X would lose connection when entering the toilet at times, but my iPhone Xs Max is dropping it consistently.

It's the same for LTE/4G, during my daily commute my iPhone X would sometimes drop connection, especially through tunnels while on the train. But my iPhone Xs Max is dropping it consistently when going through the tunnel, without exception where my iPhone X would do it seldomly. I also notice that it seems to fall back to 3G a lot more compared to the iPhone X.

I’m on my third XS with the same WiFi issue. The chances of this not being a widespread issue is minuscule given the number of XS’s I have had. Phone is probably going back and I’ll pick up an 8 or something. They have some serious issues to iron out.

Yep it’s a issue on all Xs. So far I’m testing 12.1 beta and I’m seeing minor improvements.

I’m having problem with stereo playback where only the bottom speaker works. changing the balance in all the way to the left(settings>general>accessibility) produces no sound at all.

A reboot fixes the issue temporarily, anywhere from a few hours to a day or two.
