SE battery life finally is normal and stable without weird drops for no reason. Same as it was few years ago. Still original with 97% capacity.

I switched back to updating via iTunes for most updates (and especially major updates) and I think there is something to this as I have found that my devices stay consistently fast and stable. In a way I think it's similar to how Windows systems do best with a wipe and clean install once in a while rather than constantly patching the software. It is slightly more effort than just updating OTA, but I find it's worth the effort. My battery life seems about the same and has always been excellent on my iPhone 8 with every version of iOS that I've used on it.I have noticed something interesting with my iPhone battery when updating iOS. When I update OTA, my battery seems to perform more poorly than when I update via iTunes. For whatever reason, iTunes updates seem to be more stable and less "buggy" than OTA updates. Therefore, I consistently update iOS via iTunes unless some other reason prevents me.
I believe the primary reason that iTunes updates are more stable is due to the fact that they are the full iOS (2-4GB), as opposed to OTA updates (typically under 1GB if a user regularly updates) which only include the necessary changes to the previous iOS the iPhone is running on.
The only downside to updating via iTunes is if someone has slow internet or a data cap on their wifi network. Otherwise, iTunes is the preferred way to update IMHO.
What do y'all think? Who prefers iTunes to OTA iOS updating?
Anyone who’s getting good battery life what are your settings??? Do you have automatic downloads on are did you turn off any location services? Thanks!
Atrocious battery life on iPhone X and iPhone 7 Plus. I would honestly take the reduced performance of iOS 11 over this horrible battery life of iOS 12.
Mines exactly the same.
What’s your iDevice?
What iOS was it on before and after?
What’s your battery life before and after?
6S+, health 100% (changed on xmas)
SOT 2h 26min, 100->31%, screen brightness ~30% from max
Draining like a toilet...

I took my phone off charge this morning about 9:00 am and it’s now 11:00 am and screen on shows 2 hr 5 mins and my battery is at 94% My battery health is 86% (new battery last fall)
That’s why I said it’s too early hasn’t even been 1 day since I updated. Will need to wait a week to see how it performs. You are missreading the info - it is impossible to get 2h SOT only consuming 6% of the battery. It probably shows you the whole time you used it before charging and now after charging (the last 24 hours).
6S here with 88% Battery Health, replaced last June.
After updating to iOS 12.3 a week ago and a couples day later to 12.3.1 battery drain is a serious problem.
Look attached, barely touched the phone. I have also not changed anything except for the OS Update.
On my 6s the battery life has been the same on every version of iOS 12 I have installed.
Even better it's exactly the same as it was on iOS 9.
Trust me, neither of these settings will change your battery level significantly. It will help 2-5% at most. Not even worth mentioning but if you're that picky - then disable both.
