You’re right on the money.

2 mins later system storage is down to 14GB :)

So it didn’t actually delete stuff, it just realised these 40 GBs were not system files but files related to other apps? Interesting.

Merging of iMessages from same contacts with different numbers or e-mail is still not implemented (as it is on Mojave). :(

Anyone have a blank new in watchOS section in the Watch app?

Since an early beta of iOS12 I have pretty serious issues with the mobile data. Very often it says "no internet connection" then a few seconds later it is back online.

I haven't read about issues like that in these beta threads, but I still wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.
I already did a "network settings reset" (don't know the exact naming in English, sorry) a few betas back, but that didn't help.
Do you have any other suggestions? Or could this even be a hardware issue?
Probably I could try to replace the sim card. Maybe this helps?

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Try going into Settings > General and see if it offers you to update your cellular carrier profile? This might help.

I'm guessing the low haptic feedback when trying to open the empty app switcher on iPhone X is here to stay? I much prefer the previous/obvious haptic feedback.

On this beta, I noticed a slight haptic feedback when switching to a previous app from the homescreen (just swiping towards the right from the bottom of the dock). Was this there before and I just never realized it?

still no haptic feedback on empty app switcher (iP X) this is unbelivable..
Why in the world do you have an empty app switcher?! You should know that for the past 5+ years background app management is handled differently on iOS and you are actually making your phone work harder by constantly closing apps.

Unfortunately that still doesn’t explain why such a trivial, esoteric issue should have anyone so rattled.

Do you ha

ve any issues with WiFi at home or office?

My experience with beta is that at some point it’s worth doing factory reset so you get a full iOS install rather than patched version.

I am noticing a slight delay before opening all my third-party apps. Very weird but after opening them once, they seem to behave normally again. Also the 3d touch on keyboard to move the cursor has had a delay since beta 6....still not fixed

There is haptic feedback, just very subtle compared to before. Take your case off if you cant feel it at all.
Not using a case.. vibration motor works but the haptic feedback on empty app switcher doesn’t..

I’m not closing down apps.. I keep them running in the back, it’s just the thought of that “feature” not working that annoys me very much, the knowing.

thanks, but unfortunately there is no update.

no problems at all with wifi
Does a factory reset still help even if I then choose to restore from a backup?

Yes. I’m this way you would have the whole system installed from scratch, with the old settings.

Every time when I update from iOS 10 to 11, or 11 to 12, I set my phone as new.

I think it's OCD. I remember someone complaining for over a year about iOS 11 having a slightly slower response to the home button than iOS 10 did. I couldn't even notice any difference myself but this person apparently did and insisted on it. And it bothered him to no end.

Never underestimate OCD. A lot of us have it, including myself. :)

It's true. The blank space around the landscape keyboard STILL annoys me. I don't see the reason for them to remove the copy/paste and various other keys they had there.

I don’t know since which bets this is but when you’re in a call, the vibration for getting notifications like WhatsApp is not as long anymore! It’s just a very quick vibration they 3D touching something.
Took ages for Apple to fix it as they already had it in iOS 8 but introduced this bug with iOS 9 again...
