iOS 12.x.x Speculation Thread [Merged]

They do not release everything as soon as they have it built...
Many, many, many things may explain this, but we will likely never know.
Part of it was a holiday period, part of it was ensuring stability to make sure the release is good to go, and part of it is working on plenty of other things (like the next iOS 12 release, working on some iOS 13 stuff, working on other products and services).
Could be released later today then. Or its the holdup (FDA).
The people stating it was staying in beta had no basis, other than its non-release at 1pm ET, for saying that. I would expect statements like "Its not out" or "They didn't update it" rather than definitive sounding statements like were made. That's where bad info comes from...
Hopefully a lot of testing. Just because they didn't rev the build number doesn't necessarily mean that things haven't changed, i.e. turning on the ECG app in iHealth and other lower level things.
All completely valid points. But it’s highly unusual for watchOS and iOS to not drop at the same time. So I think the most logical answers are there is either a holdup with approval, or it’s remaining in beta.
Disappointing watchOS wasn’t updated as well today but it is what it is I guess

I spoke to Tim and he said they've been sitting on their ass doing nothing. When I asked him why, he just said no real reason other than just to wind @dan9700 up. Bit harsh I feel.
maybe watchOS 5.1.2 bricks watches again and they dont want that fiasco so delaying the release. nah, its probably something to do with the ECG.
The EKG stuff shows in the health app now on the phone with the latest update. Wont do any good until the watch is updated
Only watchOS remains in beta. All other OS released today even for HomePod and Shortcut app
iOS 11.2 was released on December 2nd last year, then 11.2.5 (lol) beta 1 was released December 13th. Just for context.
I don't think we can accurately use those dates because iOS 11.2 wasn't supposed to be released on December 2nd. They had not choice because of the loop crashing bug. It came out at midnight on a Saturday.
Fair point, I think December 5th was the intended release date because that's when Apple Pay cash went live.
A couple more smaller bug fixes for polish. I'm good as B3 runs pretty good for me already and this release gets me off the beta train for a while.
