iOS X.X releases usually include some kind of major functionality. Are there any major iOS 12 features that haven't been implemented yet? IMO, I think we'll see 12.1.4 with a focus on final improvements and polishing.
I don't think it really necessarily has to be something major or major for everyone. As I recall there have been updates that really didn't have too much in terms of truly major new features in them (iOS 6.1 comes to mind fairly quickly, but I'm pretty sure there were some 8.x/9.x/10.x/11.x updates that were like that too).

Apple had already released a press release on 11.3 this time last year (day after the Tuesday after MLK Day), so it's either not coming today or it's not that exciting that they would put out a PR :)

There's that, and then there's the aspect of history not necessarily implying something about the future, especially when we've seen Apple break one "pattern" or another on various occasions.

Why would they wait another week to release a beta?
It's still possible that this week, we will see another beta coming out.
Or maybe today at 1PM.

Good guess, they always release a new beta the same week as a public release in January.
“Always”? You may be confused. It has only happened twice. iOS 10 and iOS 11. What you are claiming did not happen under iOS 6, 7, 8 or 9. I’m too lazy to go back to pre-iOS 6.

OK, my bad. In the years before that, they would have another major version iOS currently in testing. Since there is not a major version of iOS currently in testing, I expect the trend from the past two years to continue and we’ll get a new beta in the next few days.

Despite your absolutist grammar (;)) I agree with you. We'll see something in the next few days. But what, is anyone's guess...

I'm not entirely following what you mean. Can you please elaborate. But you have also contradicted yourself by saying "same week" to now "in the next few days." I'm just trying to keep some sense of a straight record - thats all.

if I keep my beta 12 profile, and not upgrade to final version, I should keep getting the beta that are coming out for IOS 12 correct? I got 12.1.3 16d5039a is that the latest beta 4? or Beta 3? im confused? my Mac os Upgraded to BEta 4 yesterday? but my XS mAx did not upgrade

What build do you on your phone? ( settings, general, about)

Should be 16D40. If it isn’t you need to delete the beta profile reboot phone and do an update manually.

What I mean if you look at iOS 9.2 beta 1, it was released while 9.2.1 was still being beta tested. Same with 8.2 and 8.1.3.

So my point is before 2017, they were already testing multiple betas at once. Now they’re doing one at a time.

But before even those they weren't doing multiple betas at the same time. Seems like it's just whatever Apple decides to go with and there really isn't necessarily some sort of a set pattern that needs to apply, even if sometimes things can fit into a pattern of one sort or another.
