Maybe the restart caused something to be fixed after the update installed? I’m hoping for better battery as well but mine is always on a charger (especially now) so it’s hard to tell.

BTW if you're home all the time due to the virus it's healthier for your battery to not leave it on a charger full time. Better off just using the phone normally (off the charger) and charging it when the battery gets to about 40%. Keeping lithium batteries fully charged full time causes them to age faster. This is why the optimized battery charging feature exists.

I thought the optimized charging feature was the reason I would be able to do this now? Good to know, I was told this in the past and will take it off and use it. I get paranoid about dropping below 90% due to the whole battery age thing. I have had this 8 for 4/5 months now and it is still at 100%.

So something nice I noticed with the news widget is that it now shows stuff “For You”. This hasn’t worked for me at all on iOS 13 and idk if it was 13.4.1 or what but it is nice having it back. The only way the widget worked for me in the past was to disable “for you” in the widget settings. It would show news but trending news only.

I also did a hard reset about 3 weeks ago and ran as new so maybe that had something to do with it?

Regardless I’m happy...

On a side note, I wish the Siri suggestions would appear in the multitasking window again. Sometimes it does when I connect Bluetooth and it will offer music or messages, but it used to offer me Walmart when I would arrive there or other commonly used apps like YouTube. I was told by Apple that this was removed but I’m clearly still seeing it, just sporadically.

Perhaps this is why i never use iOS as much have a have done previosly, because Apple keep taking stuff away..

My biggest concern is the use of the magnifier glass when press and hod and drag so you can see where you need to edit a typed field..Apple's restricted this.

iOS 13. x is still good, but there are just some things which are at the top of my list to make me use it much less..

Alternatively, i could learn not to make many typos, but i cant see that happening..
We're only hunan

Actually the optimized charging feature is heavily reliant on a set schedule. If you randomly charge, it never actually turns on. You can see it working when its actually doing its thing. You will see your battery charge graph stop at 80% for a period of time then continue to rise to 100%. But it REALLY needs to be a consistent schedule at a consistent place (home/work). Even takes weeks to even turn on the first time because its "learning". One would think that it would "learn" from your alarm schedule and change accordingly but that's not how they designed it.

2.05.13 is what I have. The modem firmware section is typically copied from the last beta and needs updating. 2.0.6 is the version for 13.4.5 beta 1 so I suspect that's what happened here. I updated the wiki.

Thank you for confirming! Thought I had a broken update there for a second :)

The whole reason for optimized battery charging is to keep your battery at 100% *less* time. That's why it charges to 80%, stays there for a few hours, then tops off just before you wake up.

This only makes sense if you use the battery as normal during the day and charge overnight though. If you leave it plugged in at 100% all the time you're going exactly against the point of optimized charging.

I have these two bugs:

* After opening an app and tapping somewhere it opens the app which is at the same position on the home screen

* Swiping down in an app like Tweetbot and swiping up to switch to the home screen again opens the spotlight search

I think these two bugs are the same. It doesn’t happen every time but it seems like when you are opening an app it can happen that you still can „use“ the home screen in the background for a moment.

Safari freezes are still present and auto correct on the keyboard isn’t good yet.

Is there anyway to change Mouse to be similar to the way it was in iPadOS 13.3.1 and before? I’m using iPad Pro (2017 version) with 13.4.1.

A couple of things:

1. Mouse Acceleration - Before 13.4, Mouse Acceleration was off it seemed. Now on 13.4, it’s on. Honestly, I have a hard time getting used to it as I never have it on when I use other devices. So, I just want some parity between when I use a mouse on Windows and then when I switch to use it on an iPad (for example). Is there a setting to change this anywhere? I tried looking around and found nothing. I actually have a really small work space when I use the mouse, so in the past I’d move a tiny bit and the cursor would move a lot (even if I moved the mouse slow). Now, the mouse cursor (even at the max pointer move settings) moves slowly unless I move the mouse by a lot too (again, even at max cursor speed).

2. Personally, I actually enjoyed Mouse simulating Touch (hold left click to move screen, etc). Again, is there a way to change it to have this function again?

3. Finally, I dislike how simply moving the cursor near the bottom of the screen brings the dock up. I preferred it to how it was in 13.3.1 and before where I had to click and drag it up (in this case, sometimes there are things on the bottom of the screen like keyboard I want to click but the automatic drag in gets in the way).

So overall, is there a way to change it back to how it was in 13.3.1 and before? Again, I tried messing with the settings but haven’t found much related to those.

I updated mi X11 Pro to 13.4.1 and it’s getting hot since it finish the update. I didn’t charge anything i.. I don know what to do. I force a hard reboot, then disable most background services apps and finally stop (kill) all apps. Tomorrow I will continue testing if some app produces this conditioning. Anyone with the same situation?

Thanks
Best

I noticed the same thing with mine too, it gets hots on the back randomly without doing anything in particular. Anyone else noticed the same?

Thank you!

IPP 11 - Safari
Still getting this horizontal line when I scroll up / down with either my finger or using the arrow on my ASK.
Under 13.4 it stopped short of the left right edges by a quarter inch. Under 13.4.1 it goes side to side.

I’m not sure if this is relative to the software or not, but I only noticed it after the update ... did anyone notice that the keyboard folio no longer puts the iPad to sleep or wake it up when opening or closing it? I only noticed this change after the update and I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Can’t say specific to the folio but my Logitech sk for my IPP 11 puts it right to sleep when closing and immediately wakes it up on open.

Im the only one who has this glitch in the upper right corner when it keeps changing to Fight mode symbol all the time ?

Safari keeps locking up and then forgetting which tabs were open after force closing. Also, floating keyboard shows two random keys on top of the qwerty keys. iPad 11 Pro.

I would venture to say, yeah, you are the only one. Never seen that ever. I would try a reset network settings first then if that don't fix it a reset all settings. I doubt its an inherent issue with iOS but more like something gone haywire on your particular device.

I actually figured it out! The new update made a setting where you can have this feature disabled and mine was disabled by default after the update, so I turned it back on and it works .. and this is all because I was just watching a YouTube video on what to do with your 2020 iPad Pro (I like watching tech videos lol) so all is good! Thought I’d mention it just in case someone else was having an issue with it.

Sweet!! Didn’t know that was there.

Just came here to rant. I love my Apple devices. I really do. But I'm getting really tired of the bugs and problems. On my iPad, there are constant scaling/distortion issues when it comes to resizing windows, the screen regularly gets stuck in one orientation and won't go into the correct orientation even though orientation lock is off, the screen rotates but not the dock, safari crashes often. I also get bad battery life. On both my iPad and my iPhone, there are bugs when replying on forum sites to where the cursor position jumps around, autocorrect doesn't work even if manually selected, and other weird issues that making typing frustrating. On my MacBook Pro, I regularly have an issue where it says it can't find my keyboard or trackpad/mouse after opening the laptop from sleep, and then I have to just sit there for 1-2 minutes until it fixes itself. Also, automatic dark/light mode doesn't work on my Mac while you're using it - it only changes once you make it sleep then wake it back up.

I love the Apple ecosystem, but man, all of these bugs add up and start to really gnaw on you, especially when you're using your devices a lot more due to working from home.

noticed special never before odd behavior while dialing:

was doing a voice phone call for city services, normally you dial "311"
while waiting for the 311 call to connect my iPhone7 screen started to totally flash on/off. the call seemed to go through and i was able to talk, tho the screen continued to flash on/off. I had to do a microsoft reset on the iPhone!

way to go Apple
they have re-assigned the Butterfly Key Board engineering team to kill the iPhone with iios13
❤❤love it.

I call it a Genius Bar Reset these days
I have had to reboot / reset / factory reset my Apple devices more in the last couple of years than ever before.

i hear you.

as for the slow activation of the keyboard and mouse, i believe its a power saving mode apple introduced in MacOS, maybe in High Sierra or Mojave. drives me nuts. i think i read somewhere one can change the sleep setting with some command line tricks, but i haven't explored. i may have to look into it that now that you got me thinking about it again.
