Don't do OTA updates..... but iTunes on Mac still saying 12.4.1 current. Why does it always take a few hours for the update to reach iTunes?

I suspect a TON of people are downloading at once, the "preparing" process right now I fear will be long.
Just a slow overload on Apple servers I guess?

Apple rebranded the os for the ipad

no more calling it iOS 13 for iPad now call it iPad OS 13

so just think about software names

iPhones gets iOS
iPads gets iPad OS
Macs gets Mac OS
Watch gets Watch OS
TV gets tvOS

that is why apple is releasing the iPad version later on 9/24/19

Bingo. You will just need to delete the Beta profile a few days before the official iOS 13.1 release on 30 Sep and you will be “back to normal” from then on.👍
Thanks again for your help.

Now that the iPadOS has been moved up to Tuesday, I’m wanting to get off the beta, and back on the “official/normal” version (whatever it’s called, lol).

Any tricks to doing this? If I go to settings and delete the beta profile, does it reinstall the latest released version (2.4 or whatever) automatically? Or do I have to restore a backup (losing a bit of data/changes since my last backup, which isn’t a huge deal, but not ideal).

Thanks in advance.

just delete the beta profile and that is it and you will stay on the GM build which is the official release, but some the public release could be a different build number, but as long you don't have the beta profile install the software update should should show the current release. i was on iOS 13 GM and then deleted my beta profile and i'm iOS 13 and it has the same build number

You can delete the beta profile this weekend (at this point the Feedback app will auto-disappear from your device). Once the profile is gone, you will be on a normal general public release channel.

If official iOS 13.1 release on Tuesday is different form what you are currently running, then yes, your device will offer you an update as usual. If it’s the same built, you will pick up the next update 13.1.1 or whichever it might be. If at some point you want to remove any beta traces and start “clean”, you can also restore your device and repopulate it from a backup.
