If anyone on 14.4 needs to get their battery replaced - good news, the diagnostics they run in the Apple Store run just fine on 14.4 b1. (I got my battery in my iPhone X replaced on Dec 22). (so, at least the diags run properly on the X)

So, yes, they didn't want to do it as I'm running beta code *eye roll*, but I insisted and we went ahead (given how long the wait is to get into one of these stores right now due to Covid, I sure as wasn't going home to downgrade to 14.3 and then come back in the New Year). :D Did the iCloud backup while waiting in line outside, connected to the store's wifi. :D

iPhone 12 Mini's Bluetooth behavior lately is maddening. It's a crapshoot whether or not my phone feels like playing music when it connects to my Pioneer head unit. When it does, it's fine but when it's not I have to pull my phone out of my pocket, open whatever app I wanna hear and press play.

This morning was different. Started the car and waited to make sure it would connect and play. It did, but there was no audio. Disconnected and reconnected to the head unit and it played the beginning of a random track which I overrode by hitting shuffle on one of my playlists. Again, track played but no audio. By this time, I was already out the garage and driving so I said **** it, I'll just have a silent drive to work. When the track "playing" hit the 48 second mark, the audio kicked in (from the beginning of the song) and the counter on the head unit refreshed with the correct time.

I'm so over this crap. Apple really is building a new reputation for themselves over the last couple of years and it's sad to watch/frustrating as all get out to use. I still love their hardware but iOS is a bit of a joke.

Of course you’re not using this as a daily driver because it’s a beta right...?

Joking apart, I couldn’t agree more, their hardware is great, their software is an absolute joke. It’s gone from ‘it just works’ to ‘it might work sometimes’. Apple is garnering a well-deserved reputation for having shoddy and inefficient software.

Has anyone noticed any jittery graphics when scrolling on iPhone XS Max.
I get it sometimes when scrolling through Home Screen, on some apps like Amazon Prime, Facebook even on safari. Only noticed it with this update.
Hopefully it’s sorted for next update.
I’ve done a report to Apple anyway.
Happy new year all
I can confirm this. Fps drops randomly. XS here

Riiiiight.....

Seriously though, I've been riding the beta train on my daily driver for years and aside from a handful of instances over that time I've always been satisfied with how they perform. Betas actually felt like betas whereas today, we're lucky if the official releases have that level of polish. Me not getting any sort of Messages notifications only to find several waiting for me when I pick up my phone is alpha-level garbage.

For folks who have had Messages notifications issues: Are you also using Messages on your Macs? I think I've realized there's a connection between having Messages in the foreground on my Mac (even if it's idle and I'm not at my computer) and notifications on my iPhone. In other words, if it's in front on one device, it feels there's no need for a notification to be pushed on others.

I have a Macbook at home that I barely touch (it's from 2009 and up until I made the mistake of getting into Apple Music it was my main music management hub) and an iPad Pro that sits on my desk next to my phone while I'm at work which has never had Messages notifications enabled.

Some do some don't.
Good thought though.

Widget: Battery
IPP 11 2020

Just noticed this and may have existed in 14.3 (don't think so though).

When I am using my AirPods Pro with my 12 ProMax or 11 ProMax the battery for each headphone and battery charger show up in the battery widget. However on the IPP, only the set of headphones shows and not the battery charger. If I change to one headphone it shows but on switching back to both they show as a pair.
See example below IPP11 vs 12PM Widgets.

I can’t copy and paste pics into my iMac messages

anyone on this beta having issues charging their ipad with third party usb-c bricks? have an aukey 65W and Belkin and neither charge my ipad.

I pretty much use Anker and RawPower and have not run into any issues with my iPad Pro 11.
The Anker is a USBA > USBC charger and the RawPower is USBC > USBC.
Thanks. Strange then, both are usbc to usbc and I’ve tried multiple cables. iPad charges fine with MacBook brick though so not sure what’s going on.

The freezes and reboots are a joke, I'm downgrading to 14.3. Must be the worst beta experience for me in about 7 years.
