iOS 14 Beta 3

Release Date ―
July 22, 2020
Build Number ― 18A5332f

iOS 14 Beta 3 Release Notes

New Features & Changes

  • Clock widget added; Option for a single clock/Time Zone widget, or a quad clock/Time Zone Widget.
  • New Music icon.
  • Automations can now be triggered upon closing an app.
  • It is now somewhat possible to delete a widget without triggering jiggle mode.
  • Music now remembers the last played song and play position on timeline.
New Issues
  • Weather widget is blank after updating, and does not appear in the add widgets pane. 1.) Long press and edit widget, set your current location. This should update the weather widget. 2.) Temporary workaround: Delete the widget, then open the Weather app. This should add the widget to the pane again.
  • Messages: text input field disappears and therefore keyboard cannot be invoked if you switch between conversations. Close and open app again to bring back Input Field. Issue will return immediately after switching conversation however - iPhone XS Max
  • Clock widget not updating/time incorrect
  • Weather widget still not updating
  • It is not possible to type anything in slide over app using virtual keyboard if Settings app is the full screen app
  • Share sheet shows blank photos for suggested contacts from apps like Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger
  • Shortcuts app unable to create QR codes
  • Shortcuts app fails to activate Airplay 2 (e.g. Sonos) devices when activated in Siri
  • Shortcuts app unable to turn WiFi off. ( „Could not run set Wi-Fi - there was a problem communicating with the app“ )
Remaining Issues
  • Favourites widget is missing (could be by design)
  • Refreshing App Store updates after updating apps causes the refresh to hang
  • iTunes Store Genius page layout broken
  • YouTube app may occasionally start video playback with no video and a black screen. Multiple retries May fix it temporarily.
Resolved Issues
  • "Other" storage taking up more or all of the free storage on the device seems to be fixed on both iPhone 11 Pro and an iPad Pro 11". (FB7760898)
  • Weather app not updating/refreshing
  • Weather widget temporarily appearing black
  • Cannot select multiple emails by 'swiping' them while under 'Edit' mode in Mail app
Temporarily Removed
  • 3D Touch has been temporarily disabled (65576619)

Hoping amazon music will open 🤞🏼

If it's the jailbreak detection bug, then all other apps that had that, had an app update to solve it (I think Amazon Music was one of the ones affected, but not been updated yet). So this beta might not make a difference.

a person on the broken apps thread says the app never stopped working for him. So it’s hard to say who’s at fault (Apple or Developer)

Wow, unlucky. I now have widgets for all my third party apps in any size I want. My battery percentage is going up and safari is so snappy it opens the web page before I type in the URL.

amazing!! I have all of the above plus my storage is back and I can set 3rd apps as default for everything... the phone did it on its own, it sensed what apps I use most and automatically set those as default

Preparing update....I'm on the fence about installing prior to seeing the release notes.
Not quite sure how you're going to get off that fence at this point. Like the pig in the fable: I think you're committed!
