ios 14 disabled download updates, disable notify updates but 1984

Latest point release of ios 14.

iphone 12 downloaded ios 15 despite settings. Now it is nagging me to "upgrade" to ios 15.

Short of wiping the phone how do I stop these nags? Or will full reset sneakily install cached ios 15?

(subsequently I have blocked mesu.apple.com and appldnld.apple.com. Hooray DoH)

I am not interested in the Wrong Think prevention features. Have you read the book 1984 recently?

Urgh, the dreaded red dot started appearing for me too For those using a DNS-level ad/tracker blocker service like NextDNS, I found this list of domains on Reddit that blocks system updates but keep app updates working: mesu.apple.com appldnld.apple.com swscan.apple.com xp.apple.com...

two additional hosts to spoof with NextDNS.io, and settings > general> iphone storage> delete ios 15 update
