6 minutes remain on the clock here with my 1gb fibre+ connection, wondering while waiting if we'll see watch 8rc or another Monterey build drop this week.

Preparing update is taking a while………..
Same. Download was lightning fast but it's been stuck with a tiny sliver of gray at the end of the bar for a few minutes now.

Edit: As soon as I posted the Install Now button showed up. Away we go!

We probably won't find that out until the public release or until a security researcher runs a test on an updated device, as Apple doesn't post about security updates for beta/RC releases. Next Monday, it should show up here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201222
So... if I jump of the Beta-train after installing RC I won´t get the neccesary security update until the public release of 15.1?

No, I meant that they don't post *info* about what security updates are included in beta/RC builds, not that the builds don't actually contain the updates themselves. I'd bet that the RC includes the same fixes that are in 14.8, we just won't get confirmation on that (from Apple, anyway) until the public release next week.

Is it normal to need the newest iOS to run the newest watchOS version? Wanting to try the watchOS 8 RC but not ready to jump to iOS 15 just yet.
watchOS can be older than iOS but not the other way around. So you can use watchOS 7 with iOS 15 but not the opposite.

Got it! Thanx!
