Since I noticed this thread was not yet created, I thought I would create it. Taken from Mr ErikGrim's iOS 15 version..... (Mods, can we pin?).

Post about the little things (excluding highly published features) that have changed in iOS 16 here. Note that this is a wiki post, which means that you can add directly to this post.

NOTE: As always this is NOT a thread for bugs, questions, or troubleshooting the betas. All posts must present a new feature or function, or new behaviour not mentioned in the keynote. Please screenshot where necessary. Comments on features are welcome, but stay on topic. This is also not a thread for whining about missing features, complaining, in-fighting, or personal agendas. Keep this informative and to the topic at hand.

What about audios in imessage? Did we get the update like WhatsApp, messenger, Telegramm and so on, to stop audio playback, fast forward and so on? Some of these are already there, but the implementation sucks. You can’t pause playback and leave an app, you can’t pause recording and leave, you can’t fast forward and so on…

When you lose service, it adds an SOS in the top right corner in case you are in an emergency?
In control center, you can easily see what apps have recently used your location. A quick tap shows what used it. That’s a very nice change.

Anyone else getting a super hot iPhone? my 12PM hit 100F earlier.

Yeah, I am. I don't have a read on the temp, but it's pretty warm near the SOC after a few minutes of use. I'm not sure, but it seems to get warmer faster when I use the new lock screens (esp. with several widgets). Using the lock screen that migrated from the previous install that doesn't allow widgets (I'm not sure why this one remains) may feel a bit cooler.

I’ve noticed my IP12 PM being warmer than usual, but I almost expect it with initial betas. Not alarmingly hot…

– Different color scheme for the iPhone storage visual indicator
– "About this Update" sheet comes up if you go to About > Version
– "Install System and Data Files" toggle in Software Update > Automatic Updates
– Deep Fusion was tweaked on iPhone 12 Pro Max
– Edit button moved to the top in Photos
– Severe Weather/Next–Hour Precipitation alerts in more places
– Lift Subject works with almost anything (tested it myself with clothes, cartoon characters, MacBooks, etc.)
– New proactive trigger: "Often played at this time"

That’s not new to iOS 16. It just appears when you don’t have service for your carrier but another carrier in the area does have service (as emergency calls can be on any network). Seen that icon there for years

My XS Max is getting a little warmer than usual but not to an alarming point.
