My brother can no longer sync his iPhone 13 mini running iOS 17.4.1 with his iMac running High Sierra via usb cable, it says it needs to download the iTunes iphone update for the computer and it fails with a network error and I tested it with a clean install and it’s definitely a problem with Apple.
I even tried setting the clock back to when it used to work and it’s not an expired certificate problem, Apple has pulled all the updates for High Sierra. o_O
Install a later supported version of MacOS. High SIerra hasn't seen a security patch since 2020.

We know about open core, this is a 2011 iMac which has the AMD chip set for graphics which has issues, we’ve tested it but he likes high sierra right now.
He’s thinking of moving to Big Sur with open core to match his laptop.
He has a huge iTunes library with hundreds of playlists and is worried that newer versions of music will ball it up.
According to Apple own website to sync iOS 17 with iTunes requires High Sierra or newer.

For me I recently migrated from Intel to the M2 chip and I’m still having a terrible time finding replacement programs without spending a half of grand for just software updates and subscriptions.
For now I’m just gonna keep an Intel computer on standby which is connected to my monitor and I can switch sources back-and-forth.
Apple makes it really difficult to migrate from one chipset to the other, I went through this 20 years ago from the PC and spent thousands of dollars on new software and here we go again.

If your brother's iMac isn't running the last available version iTunes 12.8.3, you can download it here. If that doesn't get you anywhere, see this post by @bogdanw which tells you how to run the MobileDeviceUpdater.app directly. Unfortunately, the download links that @bogdanw provided here are returning 'ERROR 403: Forbidden' for me.
It worked, the mobile device package downloaded and I could install it on High Sierra. Thank you!

Guys, iOS 17.4.1 apparently fixes the poor battery life that 17.4 had on iPhone 13, so as an owner of an A15 device, I’m seriously considering to pull the trigger and make a clean install.

Currently, I’m on 16.6.1 on all my devices. Do you think this is the best iOS 17 version so far?

I was able to download the core types using a download manager in the App Store called download shuttle, I copied the URL and pasted it in with five simultaneous downloads and it worked.
I didn’t install the file since I didn’t.

No new release notes .. and the new build is only available via IPSW no OTA yet.
Guessing here now but when looking in this forum it seems like some has have issues when updating old school style (cable/itunes), maybe there was something wrong with the first build?

Update went fine to the new build but I did get the "swipe up to upgrade" before I could use my phone. All data was intact though.

It is impossible to get my iPad Pro 12,9 inch 5. Gen updated from iOS 17.4.1 (21E236) -> 17.4.1 (21E237). Ever since installing iOS 17.4.1 (21E236) it's impossible to view the iPad in Finder on macOS 14.4.1, or on Windows 11 using the Apple Devices app. It will just load forever.

It's possible to get it show in Xcode, but I don't think it's possible to push IPSW using Xcode?

But why do you want to? If there would be significant changes such as security updates I would see the benefit but this is the same stuff in a different package.
I'd say iOS 17.4.2 is just around the corner so why bother with all this?

236 is on Apple Developer page, and I can't locate 237

Where did you guys find the new IPSW?

Why? Because it's fun to keep up with betas.. yep, I like it better than local sports teams

The WWDC is one of the best events of the year for me, and they just dropped the date yesterday! June 10 is the kickoff
