It would be so interesting to put one of the affected (e)SIMs into another phone, or vice-versa, to see if the problem moves with the SIM or stays on the phone (or the iCloud account).

I tried this at the Genius Bar. Unfortunately the didn’t have a way to let me sign into their test device. I was able to port the eSIM over.

I found something new this morning. If I fire up my VPN and connect, FaceTime works as expected. Was shocked as I’ve never been able to get it to work on iOS 17+.

Can you try installing the cloudflare 1.1.1.1 DNS? Not the VPN, just DNS:

Interesting idea. I use custom DNS servers on my home network. I’ll give it a shot for cellular.

Do that. This app is just the easiest way. I personally use custom DNS profiles which I find cleaner. Specifically I use NextDNS, but any of them will do.
