One more question: for those using iOS 17 Mail with an Outlook/Hotmail or Gmail account: can you see the SPAM inbox? Or will I have to go through the website to check if there’s some important email among the junk? Lately, Outlook filter is failing a lot, and even Amazon legitimate emails end up in SPAM.
Yes you do see the spam/junk folder with Gmail. No problem .No idea for Outlook .

Good, I assume it will be the same for Outlook! Hopefully I will finally have all my email accounts on one single -and native- app. Well, with the exception of Protonmail, that requires its own app.

Thank you!

Yes you can see the Junk inbox. I go in every few days and delete those emails.

Good, so far so good.

After installing iOS 17 in my iPhone SE 3, now I’m setting up my email accounts on Mail for the first time. So far, I have two Gmail accounts, and now my two or three Outlook accounts are the ones remaining… I’m going to set them up on the Mail app as well, but I think the app will feel a bit cluttered with 5 or 6 email accounts…

Not sure if I should leave all accounts to notify by push or not…

Push used to be mentioned as a bad thing and affect battery life but tbh I'm not sure how much of a difference it really makes. Especially today. Back in the Edge 2G/3G era sure, but not now.
But in terms of living a healthy stress free life its not a bad idea to cut down on notifications.

I sync mine every hourly and in the event that I know I have been sent an an email, I just go in and sync manually.

Okay, all my 6 Gmail/Hotmail/Outlook accounts are now on my iPhone, using iOS 17 Mail. I guess the answer to my question will be a “nope” but… is it there a way to sync all this accounts across all my other devices? Or I have to input them manually, one by one, on each device?

This thread is to see what’s your opinion about Apple’s Mail App, on iOS, iPadOS and macOS, and solve the above questions. Please don’t recommend third party mail managers such as Spark, because just for privacy, I’m not going to use them.

Thank you.
I've used the Mail app since I got my first iPhone 5 years ago. Works so well that I would ditch Outlook after 30+ years but my work email cannot be accessed on Mail.

I’m not receiving a reply I’m expecting -yet-, but hopefully that won’t mean that iOS Mail missed it, but rather that the other person hasn’t replied yet. We’ll see…

Okay, given that nobody answered this, I’m gonna assume it is not possible and I’ll have to input the external (non-iCloud) email accounts manually one by one on each of my devices.

However, I’d like to ask something related: once they are all on all devices’ Mail App, the unread badge does update/sync across all devices once I’ve read the outlook/gmail emails on one device?

I think I had to input all of my email addresses manually on all of my other Apple devices because I set up as new when I purchased. I never set up with my iCloud backup so I’m not sure if they will carry over to the other devices. As for the badges, I’ve never paid any attention if they sync across devices, but I would assume they do since I read an email on my iPhone and on my iPad it showed that I already read it.

Good, thanks for your reply.

Once I start adding my 6 email accounts to my iPad and Mac, I’ll let you all know if they sync or not.

As far as I remember they do not sync , you will indeed have to add them manually. OTOH they will then show as read on all devices once open
